#1 for certain, but won't go down as a classic by any means. I'm patiently waiting to hear the next single because I think this time, they'll save the best for second.

#1 but i am not too sure about this one - LOVED all her other stuff but dont really like this!
Certain No.1 and the album will be HUGE. It's not as good as Bleeding Love but is a grower I think.
It was quite a grower. It didn't do much to me when I first heard this. Now I think it's really good (but, I agree, not as good as BL).

Like Leona but this just seems to be missing something I think. Will still be huge but not a patch on 'Run'.

I thought that, but after a few listens it really is a classic. The production is very epic and gets into your head after a few plays.

i'd stick my house on it being no1, especially after a dry ice, choir and pyrotechnics filled XFactor performance

Yeah it's catchy enough to be memorable but it's easy to forget how the meloldy goes so then you want to listen to it more making it more addicting. :P Most people instantly loved BL but they got sick of it the more they listened to it. Happy is the complete opposite... every listen only feels like the second or third to me. It's a great song. :D

Is there really any point in this? Surely everyone knows it'll get to #1...? :heehee:

I'd guess that those people who voted 'flop' are expressing wishful thinking, rather than any realistic expectation of it failing...

#1.

It will debut at #1 and hang around for AGES.

It'll go on to sell more than Poker Face - Lady GaGa.

It will definitely be a number one but it is an incredibly dull song and I can't see it having a fraction of the longevity that Bleeding Love had. I think people have been wildly overestimating its quality.

As somebody who owns her début album and supported her in the past, this song was a real disappointment. It's so safe and predictable!

As for it selling more than Poker Face, I very much doubt it.

This is a very un-safe song. A safe song would've been a song that is really catchy, something that has a hook, and you can't stop listening to it, from the first listen. 'Happy' on the other hand seems to have something that takes a few listens for it to finally click. I am a massive Leona fan, and when I first heard 'Happy', I was sorely disappointed, but I listened to it a few times, and now I love it. It just takes a while, and then when it clicks, you can't stop listening to it.

However, it is different to 'Bleeding Love', in the sense that once you listen to 'Happy' lots of times, you don't get tired of it. 'Bleeding Love' on the other hand gets severely repetitive, and can become quite annoying. I suggest that you give 'Happy' a few more listens, you may change your mind.

I'd guess that those people who voted 'flop' are expressing wishful thinking, rather than any realistic expectation of it failing...

You do that quite often though...

I was one of the votes predicting that it won't go to #1. Yeah, it probably will get to #1, but it doesn't deserve it. Everything about this song is formulaic. Very soon people will revolt against all these clones: Halo, Battlefield, Energy, and I'm told Already Gone was basically the same song (fortunately I've never heard it). Enough already. Let's have the divas sing a new style rather than rewrites of the same song.

It doesn't sound anything like those songs though. That's the thing. It has the same beat (occasionally) as 'Halo', but the lyrics, the melody and most importantly, Leona's voice are completely different to anything used in the other songs. I truly hope this song will be huge, because it's incredibly beautiful, and the lyrics are beautiful. Leona has a true talent, and I'm glad she gets to share it with the world.
