Political predictions for 2025
My optimistic predictions for 2025: By the end of 2025, Starmer has recovered a healthy polling lead over his closest competition, the Tories. Reform begin to lose support due to inner conflict and some major controversy I suppose... In Canada, the Conservatives win the election with a large majority of +60 seats. Additionally, the Liberals are humiliated to a greater extent as the New Democratic party secure a higher percentage of the popular vote than the Liberal Party (although the latter party still wins more seats overall). In Germany, the CDU come out as victors in the February election, winning about 240 seats. The SPD also over-perform their polling figures, exceeding expectations to hold a significantly higher proportion of seats in comparison to AFD. As expected, a coalition is formed between CDU and SFD to control a majority in German government. In Australia, Labor exceed the polls and only stray a few seats behind the Liberal/National Coalition who are just short of a majority. The Green Party may have a key part to play in forming a majority for either government. In the USA, Trump's support begins to expire almost instantly due to unpopular decisions, controversy, his usual breaches of Democracy etc. Trump's application of MAGAnomics also sends inflation on the rise once again due to high tariffs on foreign goods. The razor thin majority in the HOR makes it hard for Trump to pass his agenda and hence makes him look incredibly weak. By June, Mike Johnson has been ousted as speaker of the HOR. This begins to set the stage nicely for 2026 where (yes, I'm optimistically calling it now) the Dems will win back a majority of over 230 seats in the HOR, make a senate gain of two seats (Maine and North Carolina, additionally Ohio, Iowa and Florida could be in play but its quite unlikely that they would shift left considering that those states haven't elected a Democrat senator since the Obama era, excluding Sherrod Brown in 2018) and a gubernatorial gain of Nevada and Georgia. After some speculation, Kamala Harris does not decide to run for governor of California and instead prepares to launch a 2028 presidential bid in 2026. Throughout 2026, Harris becomes the clear frontrunner for the Democratic nomination in 2028 with Pete Buttigieg acting as her closest competition in the polls. Vance also leads the polls for the Republican nomination. Lastly, the two 2025 gubernatorial elections (New Jersey and Virginia) are dare I say, landslides for Democracts? + a former UK Prime Minister dies :o

'Feel Good Inc' being sampled on a Aitch x Bou song? hell nah

Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
All of those scenarios are probably quite likely, the first two more than the last I would say. There is a slight chance that he may step aside and let Vance take over as President so he doesn't have to partake in all the typical Presidential activities etc. In that scenario he would still be President (by whispering his commands into Vance's gullible ear and him executing them) but Vance would hold the official title. Still, it is hard to see a dictator leaving office without death being a factor.

Childish Gambino - Bando Stone & The New World
'Crusin' really is lush! The way that the production builds throughout the song is incredible  This album has been on constant repeat ever since release, it's one of the finest albums to drop this year for sure. My major highlights were mainly 'Crusin', 'Lithonia', 'Survive', 'Real Love' & 'Yoshinoya'. A very apt ending to the Childish Gambino saga.

RIP Jimmy Carter
Awww  What a truly incredible life that he lived, 100 years of dedication to serve his homeland, and the sheer amount of people that he assisted after leaving office is really heartwarming  There will likely never be any post-presidency that matches to Jimmy Carter's, period. He may not have been the most effective President that the US has ever seen but at least he tried to put his morals first, something that this cold-hearted political environment that we live in could do with. We've lost possibly the most genuine and kind-hearted US President that there will ever be (considering the way things are shifting atm). I think its fair to say that Jimmy embodied what I believe America strives (or strived) to be. It's also worth noting that this man was a warrior, he survived both metastatic cancer and a form of liver cancer. All that I know is that Jimmy will at least be able to finally rest at peace alongside his wife  RIP

Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
The HOR are about to vote on the bill once again with the bill unlikely to pass thanks to nearly no changes whatsoever from Johnson. Rosa DeLauro delivered an incredible speech as well a few minutes ago which reiterated how the GOP are utter scumbags - removing funds for research and treatment for childhood cancer in the new, partisan revised spending plan etc. Edit: Plot twist.... It seems as though the bill is about to pass amazingly :o Democrats seem to have come together to save the government from shutdown even though the spending plan is not bi-partisan whatsoever lol Edit 2: The house has passed it, truly astonishing considering the circumstances

Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
The Republicans seem to have to have masterfully created a political crisis for America yet again. The US government is heading for a shutdown again thanks to a GOP spending plan that even the GOP is split on  With even a slimmer GOP majority come January, this is probably not the last time that this'll happen over Trump's upcoming term. On the brighter side, Mike Johnson's foreseeable future as speaker seems doomed due to this + more GOP-induced crises such as this bodes well for Dems in 2026 in the House elections (Senate looks truly impossible tho). https://edition.cnn.com/politics/live-news/...9-24/index.html

Lana Del Rey - The Right Person Will Stay
What a Lana Del Rey-esque start to a Lana Del Rey album rollout :kink: I'm hyped either way, new Lana material is ALWAYS appreciated. As for the tour, I'd love to go. I was blessed to witness her greatness on stage in 2023, just a few days after the Glastonbury thing oop. Her live vocals really are something else tho, I would highly, highly recommend seeing her x. Aiming for Wembley or Hampden...
