In April 2000, Pink released her first album, Can’t Take Me Home, and was co-produced by Babyface. The album went double platinum in America and sold four million copies world wide.

The first single released from the album was There You Go. It reached number 6 in the UK Singles Charts, and number 7 in the Billboard hot 100.

Most Girls was the second single to be released from Can’t Take Me Home in august 2000. It reached number 5 in the UK Singles Chart and number 4 in the Billboard hot 100. Most Girls was written by Damon Thomas and produced by Babyface.

The Final single to be taken from Can’t Take Me Home was You Make Me Sick. People thought this would be the last they would see of Pink because the song flopped in most countries, only reaching number 33 in the Billboard hot 100. You Make Me Sick also featured in the film Save the Last Dance.

Pink later thought that she didn’t have enough creative control over Can’t Take Me Home, she didn’t like the music that she made for this album and she wanted to change her image.

In May 2001, Pink teamed up with Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim and Mya, to record a cover version of Lady Marmalade. Missy Elliot and Rockwilder produced it and it was featured in the film Moulin rouge. The song was a huge success and reached number one in 17 countries. The video to Lady Marmalade was also a huge success, picking up many awards and lots of airplay on MTV and VH1.

Although Pink didn’t do her own tour during the Can’t Take Me Home era, she did support Lenny Kravitz in 2001.
