November 11, 200717 yr Author Kylie and Spice Girls singles to be released on a Sunday Source: MW 12:46 | Thursday November 8, 2007 By Anna Goldie, Robert Ashton EMI is to overlook the usual retail traditions by releasing singles from Kylie Minogue and the Spice Girls on a Sunday. The move, one day before traditional new releases are made available, gives the single an extra day of sales on the charts. Kylie's 2 Hearts is being released this Sunday and is joined by a decision to release the Spice Girls' single Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) on Sunday November 18, a week after the group's album Greatest Hits is released on Monday, November 12. "Other record labels are releasing tracks digitally on a Sunday which gives them an unfair advantage over physical sales in the charts," says EMI senior vice president commercial and digital media Mike McMahon. "We decided physical retailers should have the choice too." Some key releases have previously plumped for different days of the week to create a buzz, and a spokeswoman for EMI says putting the Spice Girls single on sale on November 18 makes sense because the single has "terrific, high awareness". "A lot of people are out shopping on a Sunday, especially around Christmas," she adds.

November 11, 200717 yr Wow go Leona! And I bet Rihanna will overtake Mika next week too  Yeah, I think so too! I can see The Sugababes knocking Sean Kingston out of the top 10 as well in the next week or two.
November 11, 200717 yr Yeah, I think so too! I can see The Sugababes knocking Sean Kingston out of the top 10 as well in the next week or two. I will bake a cake and worship for eternity the person who kills that fat bast*rd nevermind knock him out the top 10. Awful. Words just cannot describe how much I hate him and his pathetic song.
November 11, 200717 yr Anyone know what number Hard Fi were with 'Can't get along (without you)'? Hopefully not too far outside the top 75... although top 10 on physicals next week is virtually impossible i woulda thought :-(
November 11, 200717 yr Thanks for the charts. Good to see Craig David has done OK. Interesting re the single releases of Kylie and Spice Girls being bought forward to Sunday. Is David Gray a download position?
November 11, 200717 yr Author Is David Gray a download position? its physical oops I forgot to highlight the downloads in the chart, hold on a mo.
November 11, 200717 yr its physical oops I forgot to highlight the downloads in the chart, hold on a mo. That's quite a low entry for him. Is it because he just sells bucket loads of albums? Thanks for the highlighting.
November 11, 200717 yr :o Terrible for Seal. :( Why wasn't it a hit?! I know he didn't promote but it's so damn radio friendly!
