My initial music/chart obsession came from my dad. When I was a child I remember him recording songs onto reel to reel tapes (not sure how many remember those now) from Top Of The Pops with a microphone!

I’ve been an avid UK chart follower myself since the 1970s and every Tuesday I smuggled a radio into school to listen to Radio 1’s old lunchtime chart rundown.

I have a handwritten diary of every UK top 5 going back to 1980 which I still keep up to date.

I don’t really have favourite genres/artists as such, more like favourite songs/albums, and have been compiling my own year end favourite Top 20 lists since 1989.

I even managed to persuade my family to make their own playlists that we all share over Christmas.

I have a massive vinyl and CD collection, which is my pride and joy, but most of all I love discovering new things.

I’d been a reader/guest (lurker!) of Buzzjack for many years, before finally getting involved in ‘24…..I’m not much of a social media user but I’m trying!
