A woman on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire was just asked who '7 rings' and 'break up...' were #01's for

Anne-Marie

Cardi B

Nicki Minaj

Ariana Grande

She used a 50-50 which got rid of Anne and Cardi........and she went with Nicki

EDIT: And it was for £16,000...so she just lost £15,000 and she's walking away with £1,000

I love Ariana and will get excited for pretty much anything she releases but I’m not listening to her brother’s music, I’m sorry. 🤣

  • Thank you to @JosephBoone for the lovely new deluxe era banner 💙

The only person pleased with that answer will be Nicki at someone thinking she has two #1’s :’)

“I’ve never heard of cardi b or Anne Marie”

I wish I could say the same

Was just gonna post this in here!

I always feel so bad for contestants on shows as it always seems like chart music questions are ones where they tend to not know or go for the wrong answer

I kinda got confused at when she said Ariana makes music for children though I’ve always felt she was rather mature sounding for her age even before Dangerous Woman.

In a way I was shocked she went with Nicki as the clue was 2019 and then I feel like Ariana in general was the most discussed female of the year like she’s pretty much a household name now where as the others aren’t there as much in the UK (but then again it’s what you know like if I got a question like who were the top two teams in the premiership in 2019 I wouldn’t have a f—-ng clue).

Even my dad was confused by this statement and subsequently quoted the chorus of 'thank u, next'

I don't find it that surprising she didn't know the answer. Ariana maybe one of the biggest popstars but her music doesn't really reach to older generations, bar maybe 'One Last Time' for its association with Manchester. It would be like asking her to know a Drake song.

I kinda see that point in a way. It depends on who you know too like my parents kinda know a lot of chart stuff through me and I kinda know some sport stuff through my my dad. Without sounding ageist I think it’s more an age question too like someone younger would’ve knew it.

But someone my age may have struggled had the question been who had two uk #1 singles in 1989

Also I think had the question mentioned thank u, next it could’ve perhaps helped her out more as I think some of the older generation have heard that phrase even if they haven’t heard the song.

I think when you're as interested in music as we are and are surrounded by it all the time, it can be easy to assume there's certain things that everyone should know or have heard of. Like your example on football, I have absolutely no interest in it and couldn't name you any current players, even though football fans would think there are certain players that everyone must have at least heard of. Age definitely is a factor too.

They may have heard of it but I don't think they'd know what it meant or which artist was associated with it. Even if you told them, they wouldn't care enough to remember it.

We all better hope if we go on a quiz show there's no questions about football

I agree that Ariana isn't for children especially at all :') although I guess before Tu,n she did kind of have this cutesy image? Maybe not amongst her stans but with the GP perhaps idk.

If they were somehow only aware of Ariana's career before the Yours Truly album (think Victorious and Put Your Hearts Up era) I can see how they would have thought that to be fair!
I don't think she's specifically catered for children at all either but again I can see why she'd say that, especially when there was strong emphasis on her fanbase being "young girls" during the reporting of the Manchester attacks.
