I love it, and it's one of the highlights, but still, nothing on the album comes close to the amazingness of 'your biggest mistake'.

I don't like this. Other than UTS and G&H, the rest of the of album is disappointing.

Not a very good choice I think, 'Your Biggest Mistake' is the most obvious one they should release as a single, if not then surely 'This Love (Will Be Your Downfall)' at the very least?

The Writer is a good single. This Love is the most obvious single, but it's too similar to G&H and Starry Eyed.

Wish I Stayed is still the best track on the album in my opinion.

What do you mean? Was there a version before the album came out?

Love this song. One of about 3 tracks off of 'Lights' I actually really like. Still think Marina should be getting her success more, but ah well. No good moping about it now

What do you mean? Was there a version before the album came out? Yes, the demo. Personally, I was never too attached to it, so the album version being slightly different didn't bother me so much. I love both versions now. The song I was most gutted about getting a revamp for the album was "Guns and Horses", the difference is more noticeable to me and it was my favourite Ellie song. (it is again now, but it took some getting used to) ANYWAY. "The Writer" is basically my favourite after "Guns and Horses" but, again, I'm a bit unsure of it as a single. It's easily got one of the biggest melodies on the album but, like the previous single, it's a bit too much of a ballad to become a decent hit. It's a rare case of them releasing my favourite songs, but them being bad choices. My 'perfect era' would have been. Starry Eyed > Your Biggest Mistake > Every Time You Go (or This Love) > The Writer. |

I doubt anything she releases now will get beyond top 30 or so. The best she can hope for is to have a song picked up for a TV ad or something.
Anybody else notice how much she's ramped up her 'sex appeal' of late? She's wearing like half the clothes she was a few months back and twice the make-up. And looking worse. |

Nah, the album version is better than that. I love the bleepiness of the album version.

I cannot stand The Writer, it's the worst track on the album for me. Sounds like something you'd expect to hear from Taylor Swift or something. Ew.

There's too much a swing to it and it's very sugary. I can see why you wouldn't like it. I dont hate it.

I have a feeling that 'Your Biggest Mistake' will always just be an album track, but i really hope not.
