The first of the JLS lads to release solo material will apparently release his debut material early next year. He's been writing in the studio over the last two months with different people in America and the UK, including Autumn Rowe (Cheryl, The Saturdays, Cher Lloyd).

I'm excited about this. Aston seems to me like the one who, with the right material, make a success of himself as a solo artist. Especially if he's doing "Got to Dance" again next year.

I definitely think he has the best chance to become a solo success out of the 4 of them, interested to hear what he comes up with. I hope Marvin does some solo stuff too.

It would appear he's stayed with Sony for his solo deal. Craig Logan (off of Bros fame, who also looks after Dido and Cher Lloyd) is managing him.

So...the first fruits of this project are imminent, a year later! He signed his solo deal with Warner Music in August last year.

He's been in Los Angeles shooting what I can only assume is the video for his first single this week just gone (and teased it thus on Instagram: https://instagram.com/p/zXu73HkoUd/), with talk of an early spring 2015 release for the single release. Will be good to finally hear what he's been working on.
