Figures from Wikipedia who get them from Box Office Mojo

47 Ronin is estimated to make a financial loss of $175 million! :o

Edited by Rabbit Heart

The budget was ~200 million but there's no way of telling how much they spent promoting it and shit. OOPS but admittedly it looks awful.
I had heard that they were expecting Catching Fire to make $900m! Looks like they might just fall short of that.
Really upset that carrie underperformed in USA as well as other territories but it did strong in many so an $82 million worldwide is great ($47 million from overseas)

10. (6) Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues - $6,100,000

I'm not sure how the two sets correlate as the first one is from Box Office Mojo and the second is from Digital Spy. However, the previous positions from week 2 match up so I think I'm right with this.

It's interesting to see how Paranormal Activity has performed to see what it means for No 5 in October. A spin-off is always going to generate less money but I thought that it might have performed slightly better.

From Yahoo News:

12 Years a Slave, which won a Best Picture prize at last night's Golden Globe awards, made £2.5 million in its first weekend at the UK box office.

The favourite to win March's Academy Award for Best Picture did so from just over 200 screens around the country – averaging about £12,500 per screen across three days.

Ben Roberts of the British Film Institute tweeted the news following the Steve McQueen-directed drama's triumph last night in Los Angeles.

The weekend prior (3-5 January) saw number one film American Hustle take £3.5m – which when you consider the comparative lack of star power and difficult subject matter, shows how well 12 Years a Slave has done.

It may not be enough to make the film number one when the top 10 is released on Wednesday, but it is a big win for such a relatively small and arty motion picture.

Director Steve McQueen and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Lupito Nyong'o are all major contenders for awards at both next month's Baftas (where the film received 10 nominations) and the Oscars.

Brilliant! Especially as it did 2.5million from just over 200 screens. (It's being given a scattered release - most other cinemas are getting it on the 31st!)

Glad to see 'I, Frankenstein' not doing that well, it doesn't look to good imo.

Ugh at Jack Ryan beating Inside Llewyn Davis! :(

Floptastic for 'I, Frankenstein'! Although those sorts of films never do too well at the BO anyway and somehow manage to get a decent following/enough for sequels etc...

There's no stopping 'Frozen'! It's now grossed nearly $900,000,000.

Frozen really is doing amazingly and rightly so, one of the very best films Disney has ever made.
The sing-a-long version was released in the US that weekend I believe!

Mr Peabody & Sherman has done better than I expected it to, it'll be interesting to see how well it will do when released in the US.

HUGE for 'The Lego Movie'! Looking forward to watching it, myself!

So 'Robocop' out performed my expectations and hasn't flopped anywhere near as badly as I thought it would. "great".

So yeah, The Lego Movie has done VERY well, especially when you take into account the fact that it's released in February.

BIG opening for The Lego Movie, helped obv by half term. I expect it will run for quite some time too, so should have a very nice end total.
