Posted August 5, 20159 yr Surprised there wasn't a thread for this, anticipating this so badly and adore the cast of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon and also love Paul Feig's movies. Hoping this will be great
August 5, 20159 yr I may be in the minority but I get the feeling this is going to suck so hard. Ghostbusters really doesn't need a re-boot/re-make because it's going to disappoint compared to the original which is pretty much flawless.
August 6, 20159 yr Have to agree with Severin. There really isn't a lot of point apart from it being a sure-fire seller through association with the original alone. I applaud the slightly subversive stroke of having an all-female troupe, but that's about it. I haven't enjoyed anything I've seen from this group...mind you, better than having Seth Rogan, James Franco et al doing it.
August 6, 20159 yr Yeah, I'm in the camp who are totally against this! Mainly because I cannot stand Melissa "I play the same character in every film" McCarthy, but also for the points made above!
August 6, 20159 yr I think this will be amazing. I've loved everything from Paul Feig so far, and Melissa and Kristen should slay. I wouldn't usually be interested in a Ghostbusters re-boot but I think the gender change makes it a lot more intriguing.
August 6, 20159 yr I love Paul Feig's movies and I'm also a fan of Melissa, Kristen and Kate, but I'm not sure about them doing this. Not that I've ever seen the original
August 6, 20159 yr I read about this, apparently its been on the cards for a few years now to get re-booted and its had many castings to get it back to the screen, I prefer the original movie, its a classic, personally I'm not going to bother with this.
March 4, 20169 yr This actually looks pretty great, OK not all the jokes landed but there were some good ones and I love the cast. I love how the ghosts look too, the effects are really nice. My favourite part was Melissa McCarthy doing the Exorcist
March 4, 20169 yr This looks utterly diabolical :( I don't see the need for Hollywood to always be remaking or rebooting classic movies that didn't need it and then added twists like having an all female cast etc. It doesn't add anything to the movies other than making the originals seem more worthy of attention. Also, Chris Hemsworth once again hopelessly miscast, nobody believed him as a computer hacker in Blackhat and it's hard to picture him as a nerdy type in this  Edited March 4, 20169 yr by Regina
March 4, 20169 yr The trailer indeed ISN'T as good as I hoped, but I didn't think the Spy/Heat trailers were particularly promising either and I really enjoyed both (I LOVED The Heat), so I still have high hopes.
July 10, 20169 yr This, thankfully, was a lot better than expected. Colourful, fun, lighthearted and well written - some clever references to the originals and the backlash it got. I'd probably give it about a 7/10.
July 11, 20169 yr I'd be inclined to agree with 7/10 but I was hoping to like it more, I was losing interest by the end. It had funny moments but not properly laugh out loud (Ab Fab last week was better in that regard). Chris Hemsworth was my stand out.
July 11, 20169 yr I know it'll go up in it's score, but this has 3.7 on IMDB... I wish people weren't so IGNORANT and actually watched films before they actually rated :/ it really peeves me off, tbh.
July 12, 20169 yr not bad 6/10. good cast nice cameos from Bill, Dan, Sigourney, Kate is new to me and is weirdly memorable, the PR woman & The Mayor chucklesome, but Chris Hemsworth steals the film as a dumber than dumb secretary - sort of ironic that, in a femcast of comics :o

July 13, 20169 yr saw this to day, it was SOOOO good!!! I really loved it and wasn't expecting to even enjoy it
