Anyway, this edition fits in pretty well with the lead actress 2015 thread that I put up earlier today but what other editions would you guys be interested in? I have Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep lined up next but some boys would be nice too laugh.gif Perhaps Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio?

Julianne has become one of my favourite actresses around at the moment, she almost always has great roles one after the other (although her performance in Seventh Son was Razzie worthy laugh.gif) and she's consistently one of the best things about all of her movies.

I've not seen Boogie Nights as I'm not entirely sure it would be my thing but here's how I'd rank her other nominated performances:
1 Still Alice
2 The Hours
3 Far From Heaven
4 The End of the Affair

The raw emotion in Still Alice is what clinches it for me as her best performance, there are so many scenes where you just feel so utterly sorry for her and what she's going through. She was my favourite character in The Hours though as well, her story line was definitely the most enthralling for me and I loved the scenes where she was older towards the end. FFH and TEOTA were hard to split up for me but they're two great, more subtle performances and my attention was always drawn straight to her in her scenes in both. A very convincing British accent in the latter as well (although she probably had a bit more of a supporting role in this)!

In terms of snubs, I'm still gutted that she missed out for The Kids Are All Right, both female leads were just as good as the other so it's a shame that Annette seemed to steal most of the limelight that year, it's sad that both weren't nominated (I'd have put her in over Jennifer Lawrence in Winter's Bone tbh!).

Really hoping she's fab in this year's 'Wonderstruck' and can get that sixth nomination, collaborating again with Todd Haynes looks promising! I think she's got a good chance, especially because it seems like it'll be a good year for her as she's also starring in 'Suburbicon' which looks like it could be another awards contender (as well as Kingsman 2!) biggrin.gif

Two noms in one year, what kind of QUEEN *.*

Still Alice is a career defining performance, she was just so good in that. The Hours should have gotten her a win too.
The Kids Are Alright and The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio deserved nods too.
