La La Land for me.

Genuinely one of my fave films of this decade at least. So, SO good.

La La Land for me too.

Moonlight is the more important film so I am pleased that it won in that sense but in terms of enjoying the movies, I found Moonlight a bit of a drag whereas La La Land was much more of a magical experience for me

Doesn't mean it's good...

:kink:

(I'm sorry. I found 'Moonlight' so boring :()

La La Land is an abomination. Both the leads were average at best, Emma especially, one of, if not THE, most undeserving Oscar win in recent times.

The one that's a masterpiece.

Not Sam throwing a curveball and voting for Moonlight :o

Moonlight has stuck with me a lot more, it's the one I came out of having really enjoyed rather than feeling disappointed. It wasn't my top pick for Best Pic, but La La Land was better than Fences and that's it :kink:

They're both very good films in their own way. La La Land is on a technical and visual level, close to perfection and is wonderfully uplifting, whereas Moonlight is striking in it's realism and harrowing in it's tales.

I think Best Picture got it right though - Moonlight feels like an important film for these times and one that brought to the mainstream parts of society that aren't given that attention, La La Land, for how fun it is, is essentially a love letter to Hollywood.
