Great work on these lists Dan! So Bieber was the very first to achieve this then and I think because of the artist cap now in effect Drake will never be overtaken here!

Yep on the "biggest beneficiaries" list there's literally 2 female artists and 17 male. This is my main beef with streaming - it's SO male dominated ugh.

That's mostly because the vast majority of songs which are streaming hits but not so much sales hits are hip-hop songs, and hip-hop as a genre is about 95% male dominated as far as the mainstream goes.

Better Now has now made the sales top 40, so Drake's Blem tops this list once again.

Not sure if this has been suggested elsewhere, but I'd like to see OCC cap the streaming equivalent sales awarded to a song in any given week to a maximum proportion of its overall sales. For example if a song has actual sales of 2,000 copies in a week, its SES could be capped at a maximum of, say, 9 times this amount (18,000) so that its combined sales for the week are capped at a maximum of 10 times its actual sales (20,000).

Admittedly this would be a fairly short term solution while actual sales as a whole are still significant. However they could then ditch the 3-songs-per-lead-artist cap as songs which are streamed heavily as album tracks but have low individual actual sales would not flood the chart as they did before the current rules came in, while artists with multiple songs with strong sales in their own right would no longer be penalised as they are now.

Updated.

Of course Drake became the first artist to get a top 5 hit without making the sales top 40, which he got two of. He now extends his lead as the biggest 'beneficiary' with 15 (and 16 if you count 'Sicko Mode'). He'd still be on top excluding album tracks that would now fall under exclusion rules, with 7.
