That 'Northern Star' cover is a highlight of the era for me. For once Melanie's styling is spot on. And the lighting is gorgeous. It really captures the drama and atmosphere of the album.
Geri's is nice, but fairly low effort by comparison. |

I wouldn't say the Schizophonic was low effort at all it was interchangeable with a white and red side to choose each representing the dancier and more mellow songs (sort of heaven and hell themed)
A lot of thought was put into every aspect of that album and it's era |

The interesting thing about that white cover is that she's wearing a straitjacket, something I didn't know for years!
I really like both white and red covers of Schizophonic, but I prefer the red one. Maybe because that's the version I got at the time of its release, so it's been the cover I've mainly associated with it. I really liked the design that went into the sleeve being reversible, even the back cover can be changed around too. However I prefer Northern Star to both Schizophonic covers! But in my opinion, none of the photography was as beautiful or considered as the 'Northern Star' cover. That image is a work of art. |
