Checking in for the fourth time this year with a music update! My listening was back up a bit this month as I got used to lockdown and came to a bit of a newer routine.

Inna tops this week's chart with her latest comeback single. Not My Baby sees the star playing Eve in the Garden of Eden, a bit of a creative step forward from the kinds of bikini fashion videos she relied on at the start of her career. The track becomes Inna's 8th chart topper for me of a total of 28 entries, and continues her incredible run of landing at least one #1 a year for the seventh year running. I'd really recommend checking out her back catalogue if you've any interest in dance or dancepop, as I know she's still mostly known in the UK for one or two hits from around 2010 and nothing since.

A couple of smash hits since we last checked in have been and gone on my chart - All of The Feelings by Kiesza had a solid run at #2, and Dua's chart takeover following the Future Nostalgia drop landed her a few more top 5s in the shape of Break My Heart and Love Again - which would be my pick for single #4. Jhene Aiko's notched up a sixth chart topper and another run of top tens from her surprise album drop, and Little Mix's amazing synthpop comeback also became their 4th #1 for me. Roxen, Rolloland's Moderns and Hendinia's SVEA continue runs from the last BJSC as does my current entry from Rebecca & Fiona, while wildcard charters this week include an older track from Say Lou Lou fresh off their Duke Dumont collab, and a rediscovery from Laganja Estranja following THAT viral dance performance.

This week sees a slew of debuts and a nice varied sound hitting me. Gaga finally manages another top ten with the unexpectedly gorgeous Smile cover from the Stay At Home concert, outpeaking Stupid Love by a few spots. I'm expecting Chromatica to drop this month with all the leaks! Ava Max's Kings & Queens continues strong in the top ten as her first top ten hit and charter at all, as I was completely underwhelmed by Sweet But Psycho. Strong new entries this week come from Charli XCX, the long-awaited return of Evanescence, Pabllo Vittar, Halsey and Maia Wright among others. Expect either or both of those first two to top my charts this month!
