Posted February 19, 200818 yr Duffy chart status at the mercy of H Two O Source: MW 12:57 | Tuesday February 19, 2008 By Paul Williams Ministry of Sound label Hard2Beat is targeting a second successive UK number one single as it provides the biggest early challenge this week to Duffy’s chart-topping crown. Early sales figures put the A&M/Polydor-issued Duffy single Mercy ahead, but it is facing a battle with the Hard2Beat single What’s It Gonna Be by H Two O featuring Platnum. The same MoS label released the chart-topping Basshunter featuring DJ Mental Theos single Now You’re Gone, which was number one prior to Duffy. By contrast, Roadrunner-signed Nickelback’s long-running single Rockstar’s attempts to reach number one now seem over as it appears on course to drop from its position of two on last Sunday’s chart. It should be joined in the top five by Parlophone’s Kylie Minogue single Wow, which is poised to make a double-digit leap from its current chart position of 18 following its physical debut. Last week a revival of Utah Saints’ 1992 hit Something Good entered at 31 and the Data-issued single now looks set to make a double-digit climb during its second week on the chart. Several tracks are expected to climb into the Top 40 this Sunday, among them Island act Taio Cruz’s Come On Girl and Craig David’s new Warner Bros single 6 Of 1 Thing. Although their single I Thought It Was Over is expected to lose its Top 10 status this coming weekend, Island’s The Feeling look a strong bet to debut at number one on the artist albums chart with second album Join With Us. It should be joined in the Top 10 by UCJ signing Jonathan Ansell’s newly-issued Tenor At The Movies, while Island’s Amy Winehouse is expected to climb back into the 10 with the deluxe edition of Back To Black following her five Grammy wins. Lower down, expect new entries from artists including A&M/Polydor’s Sheryl Crow, Lava/Atlantic’s Simple Plan and British rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Joe Brown who looks set to score his first hit album since 1963 with the UMTV-issued The Very Best Of – 50th Anniversary. February 19, 200818 yr Kylie is No.4 and the Feeling are No1. in the albums, give me a mo to edit. No pun intended but wow, I'm surprised that she is top 5. :)
February 19, 200818 yr ooh, well done to The Feeling for being #1 and good that Kylie is #4, hopefully with the Brits she may go top 2 - pushing Nickelback down!
February 19, 200818 yr So happy for all of this! :cheer: The Feeling #1  Kylie top5  H2O and Nuckelback NOT #1  Call the shots still top40
February 19, 200818 yr Suprised Craiiiiiiiiiig David has flopped so badly and suprised to see Kylie so high - She will probably go top three after the brits too!!
February 19, 200818 yr Watck Kylie drop like a brick before sunday!! That sort of happened with '2 Hearts' she was #2 in the midweeks at some point but fell to #4. But this time she has the Brits to back her sales.
February 19, 200818 yr I think Kylie will climb rather than fall if anything due to the Brits. I can see her staying at 4 though or 5 at the lowest. but its very impressive seeing as its been around for months. 2 hearts, although it started at 2, had only been around for a week.
