About This Club

It's Katy's world and we're lucky to be living in it! Come and discuss all things 143 as Katy gears up for her next world tour.
  1. What's new in this club
  2. I mention sexism once in a short paragraph and now suddenly I'm "teaching you sexism and misogyny" That's the most utterly ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I'm not saying sexism doesn't exist. Infact if anything not only did you assume my gender but you also assumed men can't talk about sexism (as if sexism only happens to women.)
  3. I'm not trying to teach you about sexism nor am I saying I'm some expert on it. All I said was that this situation has nothing to do with it and it's just down to the music and tours.
  4. Men teaching others about sexism and misogyny (especially the lack thereof) is honestly the funniest f***ing thing.
  5. Sexism doesn’t exist after all.
  6. Katy has done many controversial things and survived.. it's not a male thing and framing is as that is just an excuse to make her look better. Katy Perry made dislikeable music and options that have nothing to do with sexism.
  7. In Katy's last tour she sung a song while throwing toilet roll in the air as a dancing poo came out of a toilet to dance with her. 😭
  8. This is very funny to read, even back in the day on x factor or the brits etc her performances and vocals were dreadful. It was fine in 2010 as we were marketed to a pop star and no other options, they were given the songs and the limelight It's different now, those who lack talent can't continue as they did
  9. This was a refreshing thread! Katy's made herself a laughing stock. End of. I for one will be laughing until she switches it up. Trying to turn this into a 'victim' situation is ridiculously hyperbolic in my opinion. She's a very rich woman who literally just flew to space. Let's be real here.
  10. Katy being female is kinda a relevant point in a way when it comes to her treatment and career because male artists do get away with worse things and have it not impact them at all. I mean Chris Browns probably gonna still score hits and huge tours once his latest legal drama is solved. Having said that though there is something about Katy’s actual material itself just being completely awful these days. There’s no dressing up just how much her actual material itself has drastically deteriorated (and to me no matter how extravagant her sets and staging can be she’s pretty much never delivered on the live vocals). I’m sure Katy will always see success from a touring perspective though and I think if she goes in a different direction next era possibly more acoustic or just stripped back in general maybe critics could be kinder.
  11. Like I said before, I've not seen any footage from this current tour because I'm attending it later in the year and want to avoid spoilers. However, the previous two tours are my favourite tours ever, because of how good a performer Katy is! She threw in the kitchen sink both times. Perhaps that magic spark is missing this time but she absolutely is a strong performer if we look back at her whole career. She was also vocally strong live!
  12. Well, she's not likeable NOW, but she was before Witness. Chris Brown and Morgan Wallace aren't likeable, and Katy WAS a good performer... before she lsot her confidence. Her vocals are fine. They're better than a lot of other stars.
  13. I think the biggest difference between what everyone is trying ti compare here Katy is not likeable or a singer or performer Chris Brown/ Morgan at least on some level can either sjng or dance
  14. I never said it excuses his behaviour, I just said it makes the situation look slightly better for him.
  15. This is one of my favourites from her and probably my second favourite single from the debut, love love. Looking back she certainly herself got chained to the rhythm
  16. I don’t see how being drunk excuses his behaviour.
  17. What do you mean by "weak excuse"
  18. Weak excuse imo. Chris Brown is another man who’s managed to salvage a career despite being a walking skidmark.
  19. There is literally controversys of Katy Perry saying the N word, she matches Morgan's controversy.
  20. Read the message above mine (this one)
  21. Morgan Wallen's actions weren't ok but atleast he apologised and didn't knowingly say it (because he was drunk.) Katy has done many things she hasn't apologised for such as the comments she made to a mum while she was on a talent show, the way she touched Justin Beiber, the way she wrongly made someone file for bankruptcy and more.
  22. I have seen a lot of weird takes about Katy but saying her controversy is worse than Morgan getting blacklisted for 2 years for saying the N-word with a hard R in a drunken stupor really takes the cake here
  23. Please tell me this isn't saying Katy's controversy is somehow worse than Morgan Wallen's actions
  24. It comes off as really low effort. Revealing the tour dates in space, instesd of holding names of fans or somethong, was lol. The tour itself, with the naff Star Wars section, just looks terrible. She needed ro lower rhe prices, strip it all back and go back to basics, play some songs which should have been singles. This all boils down to BAD singles choiced since PRISM!!! It collapsed her career, she stopped being adventurous, snd now she doesn't know what to do to fix it. Her career as a big artist is over, and that is her OWN fault, due to singled AND the fight with Taylor Swift, who some say is bigger than the Beatles. I haven't seen career self sabotage like this since the Spice Girls. I dunno what she could do to fix it.
  25. I was just saying to the other person that I'm not hating on her for being female. Don't even compare Katy and Morgan, Katy's controversy is so bad that I can't even speak about it all in forums. Katy has showcased many real reasons to dislike her.. the moment anybody disliked a female singer in 2025 people will play the "misygony" card, people even did it for Ice Spice!
  26. She wouldn't be getting this much hate if she were a man. Or at least, her music career wouldn't have suffered as much. Look at someone like Morgan Wallen in contrast.
