In light of all the drama and the fact that there are no original members of this group left, do you guys honestly think they can survive this potential final nail in the coffin?

I'm going to say no in the longrun, I think 'About A Girl' will still do great because it's a brilliant tune and it will also ride on the publicity of this fiasco. One thing's for certain, if they can survive something like this, they can survive anything.

Well, survive how long?

For up to another year? Yes I think they might stand a chance.

Longer? Well who knows.

It could all end tomorrow still. Which again wouldn't surprise me either lol.

I guess all this goes to show literally anything can happen, expect the unexpected.

All involved seem determined to keep it going, even when all the original members cease to exist.

All depends on how they sound together. I think it could work. Well I hope it does anyway! It's too early to say for sure, but I'm gonna vote 'Yes' ^_^
Voted Yes 'cause if they keep releasing great tracks there should be nothing else to stop them.
All depends on money and contacts to be honest. If they have the connections to get US airplay then the future is bright - this seems to be the purpose of the new direction and Jade. If however they are attempting to survive on existing mainly UK fanbase them I think life could be short.
what UK fanbase?

They just lost 90% of it

I think that is an exaggeration. You yourself said you would be buying the new sugababes material. I reackon they have lost maybe 20% and gained about 10% from excess media attention and cross over from direct Jade fans.

Sorry, I wasn't a Sugababes fan for Keisha! I still love Heidi and Amelle and I'm totally supporting them.

I know most people say they're done, but I also know EVERYONE is going to download and have a listen to their new album and probably going to like it.

The official is full of very very angry fans.

They are going to have a hard time pleasing the fans with this album.

By the time album #8 #2.1 comes round i think they'll have an easier job. It's like the TIMW thing. except we don't know what the songs sound like, but there will always be that comparison.

I feel for Jade at the moment. She has the single hardest job in the music industry right now. She has to win over a large group of very loyal fans who feel hurt and betrayed.

Yep, but fans that will get over it.

Let's look at what's going to happen.

Heidi, Amelle and Jade are obviously going to be promoting Sugababes 4.0

Keisha who is under contract will have to suck up and make things pretty for sugababes 4.0 - in fact she has already had to start doing this with her recent tweets.

Then you have media attention from the new member, the first performance with the new member, more desires for interviews etc, it's media heaven.

Then resistance, where is that going to come from? A few outside players, mainly Mutya, friends of Keisha who hasn't got much sway and some fans on websites that have little influence to organise anything.

I think it's going to be a done deal that more of the angry fans are eventually spun a tail that makes them support the new line up. In fact that tail has been largely spun already go read that total junk already posted on the Keisha Fired thread.

PS Any management what to hire me for promotion strategy advice please pm me here at buzzjack! LOL

No. Unless they decide to focus on the US market.

They do that they will lose a big chunk of their loyal UK fans

God every post in this thread by you involves losing fans

For me myself, I'll admit now I'm gonna find it harder to still call myself a die hard fan  umm they've done it twice now, they could easily do it again. At the end of the day its the music thats good not particularly whos singing it, if the fans like their songs they're still gonna buy it despite Keisha being in it or not. Tbh I think people saying they're not a fan anymore cause of Keisha leaving is a bit silly and overreacting. Maybe its easy though for me to say that cause I've always loved Heidi most but still have lots of love for Keisha  but yeh I think they can do it, just have to see how the album goes etc they've got this 3 album deal anyway haven't they?

Sugababes: so do they still exist or not?

Keisha's departure means that the Sugababes no longer have any of their original members. Isn't that a bit silly?

Yesterday, the only original member of the Sugababes left the band. Keisha's departure came just three days after Amelle Berrabah, who was a replacement for Mutya Buena, left. She's since rejoined (do keep up) and Keisha's replacement – Eurovision contestant Jade Ewen – has already been announced.

Now entirely consisting of substitutes, one would imagine that the Sugababes could no longer seriously exist, but this is no ordinary pop group. As one commentator on the website Pop Justice put it, "even after a nuclear war there will be cockroaches and Sugababes".

Even 80s nostalgia acts such as ABC and Bucks Fizz have at least one original member. Hawkwind (who have had somewhere between 35 and 60 members during their existence) still include someone who was there when it all began.

What's good about the Sugababes' ever-changing lineups is that it reveals them for what they are – a brilliant, manufactured pop product – and strips away romantic notions of them practising dance routines in each others' bedrooms. They're a business, a brand. The Sugababes and their management have revealed the truth – it doesn't matter who they are as long as they release good pop songs.

We're happy for the members of a soap opera or a football team to change over time, so why not our favourite pop groups? If they'd done things the Sugababes way in the 60s, the Beatles would still be around.

Besides, a pop group consisting of constantly changing members is not without precedent. Every time a member of Puerto Rican boy band Menudo turned 16 he was replaced by a new singer – a policy that kept the band successful for 30 years. Maybe Chas & Dave – who called it a day yesterday – would consider asking Danny Dyer and Ray Winstone to honour their gig bookings for a few years.

While it must be sad for Keisha to be pushed out – if her tweets are to be believed – she could take the ultimate revenge on the girls she has left behind by forming a new band. We understand Mutya Buena (Sugababe 98–05) and Siobhan Donaghy (98–01) are available for the ultimate supergroup: the Chas & Sugadaves.

if the album flops in the UK and in the US especially they are DONE!

so they have few more months.

though personally I hope it won't flop ^_^

I think, potentially, yes. It was Heidi who saved the group the first time around, really - and I'm positive this lineup will work incredibly together (even if I did consider H, A & K a strong lineup). The majority of people who buy music to make it a top 5 hit aren't die-hard Sugababe fans. I expect most people care right now because it's a bit scandalous, but in the long run won't really give a toss.
