Not the most commercial of videos. I love the concept and the cinematography but it's all VERY esoteric and does run the risk of coming off as being self-indulgent. I do quite enjoy it, but it's very easy to see how this could be seen as a slap in the face after the commercial high-concept of Bad Romance and Telephone...

The video really isn't her best work but I can't say I don't f***ing love it, it's certainly better than 95% of the videos out there at the moment. Let's face it though, this was never going to look good after the epic Telephone video.

8/10.

Sorry I gave up after the massive 2 minute plus intro and not even any lyrics had escaped her mouth.

Good job the song is absolutely amazing.

I'm not crazy about this. It's still a spectacle / Gaga / one of the best pop videos of the year easily, but compared to the likes of Telephone / Bad Romance it's a little weak.
While it is a good video, it's just far too long the last 2/3 minutes are useless and the story/message isn't clear enough at all.
Awful?

LMFAO. The ignorant f***ing comments in this thread are just...wow. I can't

I think it's fucking awful.

Well it's... err... interesting and should get people talking. I think Gaga left the point of the video a bit unclear so it was up to our own interpretations and views. She continues to push the boundaries in pop, I'm impressed with her.
I'm surprised every other person on here doesnt have a GIF of the video (Telephone)... But I didnt like it. At the end of it I was just like... 'Um... ok... what did i just see?' and it was too long. For a music video to be that long you need to have a CLEAR storyline or something exciting to keep the audience paying attention cos I found myself thinking about things I had done today when i watched it.
I love the video. The only thing I didn't like about it, was the length. It didn't really need to be that long.

Great dancing and AWESOME cinematography.

The sac-religious $h!t was a bit much though, and the dudes in heels... not my thing.

I just watched it, I think it could be shortened as well. I love the dance sequences.

Alejandro video >>>>> Telephone video for me, I don't really like the Telephone one.

I agree with all of this.

The video is geared towards a very niche audience, but I'd much rather have something that is challenging and controversial, than a generic video of her dancing around with her past lovers on a beach. Some people don't like it as the video is not 'summery' and I find that sort of criticism shallow. She has moved past the days of generic videos like Just Dance and Poker Face, and it would be a step back if she ever went back to those kind of videos. As corny as it sounds, she's portraying her artistic vision, and even though as a result the video becomes esoteric (Google is my friend), I think she should be praised for it. I find it refreshing that we have a video that we can actually discuss in terms of symbolism, story and message.

EDIT:

'Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke.'

Looks like Katy Perry didn't think much of it either.

I'm a big GaGa fan, but the video hasn't warmed up to me yet :( not in the same league as the Bad Romance or Telephone video IMO

I share the opinion of the majority tbh. It's not in the same league as Bad Romance, Telephone or Paparazzi and it's just confusing and not that effective.

Where are all the topless guys writhing around on towels on the beach while GaGa goes crazy-dancey in a summery outfit? :(

I couldn't have said it better myself :(

Love the vid. It looks like she is refering to the sexual abuse in the Catholic church? She is doing her best to provoke, and it's working

Has anyone seen the Vid on any Music Channels yet. The Box, Smash Hts etc
Vid is quite good, but BR and Telephone's vids are much better. Alejandro is my 2nd fave song of hers behind BR
