Are you sure it's not the other way round :huh: I'm pretty sure 14 was among the best whilst 15 was very bleh and I've already shared my thoughts of 19

15 was fantastic :o 14 is hardly all that well remembered considering how uninspired the top ten was...

XIV was bland beyond belief...I think I worked out that 11 or 12 of the top 15 were either on the release schedule or fairly cheap for some other reason :heehee:

 

I liked the winner though :kink:

Uh Huh Her, Sneaky Sound System, Amanda Jensen, Royksopp, Kelly Clarkson, Maire Mai, St Etienne, Krystal Meyers - Some real classics imho -_-

I agree with most of those, it's just a shame that hardly any of them did well :(

I would agree that those are classics, but I wouldn't remember the contest as a classic purely because they were all almost universally shouldered aside in the desire that SONG MUST TRIUMPH OVER VALUE :(

On the subject though of winners that we do quite like, I do find XII the undertrumpeted classic of the first half of the 'decade' :kink:

I think XIV has such a high average because the lowest rated song is a 4.0/10 which is still pretty high for me. I found "only" 2 songs there really great but rated a lot between 6.0 and 8.0. XIX had just a lot of really bad songs with only 4 that were pretty good.

 

It could also have to do with me not living in the UK so I have a different opinion on what is cheap and what isn't.

 

But XII is really by far the best for me. All of my first 7 nominations are awesome.

hardly, the top 2 was my personal chart top 2 at the time and with amazing songs from Lights and Nerina also in the top ten, it's a classic for me :kink:

 

I always host the forgettable contests :drama:
