I think he definitely fell. It doesn't seem to be in Bradley's nature to commit suicide. Sure, he was a bit of a coward, but I really can't see him killing himself and leaving Stacey and the future baby all alone like that, even for some kind of "heroic sacrifice for love". :heehee:

It worked.

To be honest, acting-wise, you wouldn't have known it was a live episode.

Yes, Scott Maslen had a couple of fluffs to begin with, but he did recover, and to be honest I found it more realisitic anyway - in a situation like this you'd expect spluttering and stammering a-plenty!

POOR Bradley, but it does all make sense why he was so desperate to flee. I am assuming he knew Stacey was the killer, and was just protecting her?

yep id agree with that.

Bloody amazing episode! Surely one of the best ever episodes?!

i wouldnt go that far, best of recent years maybe, but back in the 80's it was bloody good every time it went out.

nice to see common sense prevail for once. interesting episode, i liked the main suspects all accusing eachother in groups..

RATINGS :w00t:

14.91m, 54.6%. Peak seems to be 16:16m. Wow :cheer:

The 14:91m is affected by the 3 min overrun - as the two 15 min peaks were: 20:00-20:15: 15.12m, 56.7% & 20:15-20:30 - 16.16, 58.3%.

I imagine some media outlets will factor out the overrun so average will be approx 15.64m (57.5%)

5 min peak - 20:25-20:30 - 16.58m (59.4%) :w00t:

BBC3 & Repeats:

The aftermath show had 4.3m :o!! On BBC3 that is f***ing incredible!

EE:Live at 10:30 repeat - 1.419m and Aftermath repeat at 11- 1.205m

Weakest Link Special straight after the Aftermath show had 2.019m.

Amazing night for BBC.

Wow! Incredible ratings, I was expecting it to be around 14/15million.
Great ratings and full deserved, im watching the BBC3 show online now :D

I assume they had already filmed Monday's episode before last night...or are they doing it today?

If it was done before then surely the cast would have known who killed Archie from the remnants of the story that will be evident in Monday's episode.

:-O Still in shock it was Stacey. Bradders deffo fell i reckon, i'm assuming he knew it was Stacey, as he said: "Stace, run!" I was convinced Becca was the murderer!!!

Diedrick Santer said the way the scripts had been written, it's still ambiguous. It's only going to affect the scripts for any scenes involving both Stacey and Max anyway, which could always be filmed at a later date?

Seriously, last night was fantastic (yes there was some slip ups but with that much drama and the characters in such a state it sort of worked)

I said I thought it could be Stacey - what a fantastic murder tbh. Only thing is that would she have the physical strength so swing the queen vic statue... interesting. Also I defo think Bradley fell, just looked a bit delebrite because its quite hard to fake a fall live

Am very happy with those ratings - didn't think that high tbh. I thought around 13 million would be the peak. Eastenders is well and truly back on track after a rocky couple of years (2007 & 2008). This whole storyline has been fantastic and with those amazing live performances it really proved that last night. Hope that despite the director changes this story will continue to have outstanding twists, as I think there is more to come still from this. Can't wait to see whats next for Eastenders and Stacey, :D

The way I saw it, Bradley looked as if he was falling.

Looking back on the episode I found it very well done, Jack fluffed some of his lines, but I enjoyed it. It won't be the same without Bradley, he is an exceptional actor for someone so young. He should easily get other roles, let's hope he doesn't end up on the Bill.

I did notice when Bradley was lying down dead, his arm twitched a bit :heehee:

That was an incredible series. Defo one of the best eastenders series of recent times. I didn't have Stacey down as who i thought killed him so that came as a small suprise and i couldn't understand her killing him but she must've gone into the Vic after seeing Bradley coming out and looked towards the Vic and got her revenge. Thats the only way i think that will have worked. However i was so excited about it being live i actually didn't spot any mistakes but whatever happened there, it was well covered up :). Everyone was fab in the episode. TBH it didn't feel like it was live but it was.

Oh and the other reason i think they'd go with Stacey is to make her character involved much more. She had picked up another award at the NTA's for being a brilliant actress so i think they might've put her in the killer place to see how she deals with it. Not saying that it would be but thats my reason for why they might also have put the killer thing on her.

The Aftermath was fab too, they are all really nice in real life, really get on and have a lot of fun. It's really weird and cool seeing all the backstage stuff.

Can't believe no one mentioned the Weakest link. I thought that was brilliant too. So hilarious  I think Laila (Bg Mo) let Laurie (Jane Beale) win IMO.

The rating are excellent too from what it seems. Well BBC and Eastenders, FANTASTIC :D

They surely have to be the highest rated episodes for a soap we've had in a while! pisses all over Corrie!

and 4.3 for BBC3 is amazing!

I think EE is fully back on form now

Can't find the Aftermath on youtube and we can't use BBC iPlayer here. :(

4.3m for the aftermath show is the highest multi-channel rating EVER. The second-highest didn't even get 3m. That's exceptional!

And a 14.91m average gives EE its highest rating since 2003. There really aren't the words for how immense this story arc has been and how skillfully they've played it out. It will go down as legendary alongside the likes of Who Shot Phil Mitchell and the Christmas day divorce papers. Basically YAY, Eastenders is by far and away the #1 soap in the country!

The ratings news is fantastic, they didnt eceb expect it to that high but its peak of 16.5 million is absolutly brilliant and the bbc 3 show pulling in over 4 million is even more amazing, its all truly deserved any real eastenders fan was more than happy with what we got last night and yes the critics will disagree as usual.

This storyline was materminded brilliantly and executed even more brilliantly and the fact they kept the identity of the murderer a secret right til the end was a fantastic achievement for the ream behind eastenders.

As a loyal fan of the show i was 100% satisfied with last night show and im delighted it paid off so well ratings wise for them,

Aagin a huge well done to the BBC and everyone involved with the best soap on the box EASTENDERS.

Bookies 'relief at Archie killer outcome'

Saturday, February 20 2010, 13:07 GMT

By Oli Simpson

A Ladbrokes spokesperson has revealed that the bookmakers had their all-time busiest day of TV betting before the 'Who Killed Archie?' Eastenders outcome.

20/1 outsider Stacey Slater was revealed as the killer on Friday evening, which followed a record-breaking day of betting around the country.

The company opened for bids on the soap cliffhanger earlier this week, and have now said that they were shocked at the vast numbers of people taking bets.

Ladbrokes representative David Williams said: "It was the busiest 24 hours of TV betting we've ever seen. The country went into meltdown and all our records were smashed with every punter in the country betting on the Archie storyline.

"The eleventh hour plunge on Jean Slater had us in cold sweats but very [few] people cottoned onto Stacey as the killer. We feel as though we've got away with murder."

'Enders boss delighted by viewing figures

Saturday, February 20 2010, 13:02 GMT

By Kris Green, Soaps Editor

Departing EastEnders boss Diederick Santer has expressed his delight over the viewing figures for last night's 25th anniversary live episode.

The half-hour live edition of the Walford soap, which featured Stacey's confession of Archie's murder and Bradley's untimely death, averaged 14.91m viewers, peaking at 16.58m in the final five minutes.

Of the show's success, executive producer Santer this afternoon said: "To get this incredible response from the audience is truly remarkable - these numbers go far beyond what we ever hoped for. I am so proud of our cast and crew for their incredible performance last night. This rating is the icing on our silver anniversary cake."

Controller of BBC One Jay Hunt commented: "Last night's extraordinary live episode was a fitting celebration of 25 magnificent years for EastEnders. The audience were clearly gripped by one of the greatest soap whodunnits ever."

Meanwhile, BBC Three's EastEnders Live: The Aftermath show, fronted by George Lamb, logged the highest ever ratings for a multichannel programme, drawing 4.3m (15.9%) in the hour immediately following the live ep.

Controller BBC Three Danny Cohen added: "It is an amazing testament to the EastEnders team and the brave and brilliant drama they provided."
