Leona seems to have crushed the competition so far...with 23 votes til now...

while the runner up Amy only has 6 votes... Beverley and Sophie are third with 4 each...

you've omitted Alison Moyet - still selling lots of albums, still easily outsinging every other name on that list. And Geri Halliwell...but no Alison Goldfrapp, Kate Bush, PJ Harvey, Florence, Siouxsie Sioux.... err???????

To name Leona Lewis as the best is laughable - emotionless, bog-standard, show-off histrionics. And all the star quality of a bag of chips.

i said Best British Female Singer Of This Decade so Alison Moyet, Siousie Sioux, Kate Bush and PJ Harvey are all disqualified since the first 3 started out in the 80's and PJ is a band... and Floence and the Machine is a band consisting of 5 members....

and Alison Goldfrapp is not a solo artist...

Well therefor Beverley, Gabriella, Melanie, Geri and Dido shouldnt be included therefore since they all also started out in the 90's.

but they all had their biggest hits during this decade unlike Alison Moyet, Siouxsie, Kate Bush & PJ Harvey.

1. Natasha Bedingfield - for making quirky, original pop music

2. Leona Lewis - the voice of the decade

3. Lily Allen - for singing about issues that could be related to

went for Leona

fave song probably Angel

Leona, no question. While she does lack in charisma, the voice is her saving grace. Her abilities crush the other contenders.

Voted for Beverley Knight, by far the best vocalist.

Disappointed with the selection though.

Where's Alison Moyet? Kate Bush? Katherine Jenkins? Annie Lennox?

Beverley Knight for me, she's the only British female vocalist I can listen to for any length of time, I still love Annie Lennox but her voice isn't what it was, Adele is lovely but I can't listen for long. Can we do an American female poll next? My favourites are P!nk, Tori Amos and Beyonce. :D

poor Estelle no one voted for her so i did.

Now can someone plz vote for Emma Bunton

Kate Bush has had a top 3 single and album this decade - Beverley Knight or the majority of the acts on your list haven't..... Alison Moyet has sold more albums this decade than at least half the list mentioned...so, using your philosophy, then obviously we lose with immediate effect Geri (biggest hits in the 90s, the decade she emerged), Mel C (ditto), Beverley Knight (started in the 90s), Charlotte Church (started out in the 90s and sold more records then), Emma Bunton (same as Geri and Mel C), Gabrielle (she started out and had her biggest hits in the 90s)...?? Are we allowing 90s stars - but omitting 80s ones? Despite the fact many of the 80s acts are actually far outselling the 90s ones mentioned in this list? Eh? Fuzzy logic, surely?

PJ Harvey, by the way, is a SOLO artist. And has sold far more albums this decade than the last.....

No need to be ashamed! Dido's early stuff was brilliant :D

I loved her recent stuff aswell :(

Safe Trip Home was a flawed album, yet still VASTLY underrated by the public.

Was close between Natasha Bedingfield && Lily Aleen...but i went for the former purely because she's released 4 classics imo.

I'm actually shocked at Leona's votes. She has nothing to say. She doesn't make the songs hers. She doesn't get involved in the writing process.

Good voice? Yes but best British Singer of the decade? Not when Amy Winehouse exists, no.

Also Roisin Murphy is not British.
