Decent sales for Cherly's album. Glad it isn't getting higher first-week numbers than Alexandra's though.

If only Jay Sean could surpass 'loife... But anyway he's in for his long overdue first top 5 hit.

"Ride it" and "Maybe" should have done it as well.

What are the predictions for her on singles and album by the end of the week?

Single about 160k plus, album she probably just touch 100k, she is frontloaded for a Tues

Can I have the positions and sales (if possible) for Robbie's 'Bodies' and the GH? Cheers :D

I don't have any sales but single is at 6+3 and album 30+6

Any Paloma info pleaseeee? And saturdays album?

I don't have Saturdays album info but single is 20+2, Paloma's single is 20+7, her album 15+2

Can whoever's buying the WAG's song please go and drown yourselves.

And finally... are you looking for a warning, the rules in red on page 1 still applies, I suggest to read up. Thanks you.

If I'm not mistaken, Jay Sean already has two top 5 hits to his name - Stolen and Eyes On You?
Also I'm pleased to see Cheryl above the Michael's but as an Alexandra fan, I'm also pleased she's not anihaliting Alex's album total, one victory apiece sales wise would suit me, especially if they both get their single AND album to No.1 - result!

EOY was only #6, but yes, Stolen reached #4. Down will be his highest charting single to date anyhow, and I would HOPE that the 'loife let up a bit over the week so Jay can get a #2.

People are saying that they are glad cheryl isnt selling as well as alex but be reminded that cheryl has exposure on the xfactor every weekend until christmas now and her second single is also very strong so i think cheryl may sell more than alexandra in the long run.

I wrote a long reply to that and then realised it did not dignify a response.

Well my problem with Cheryl is that the album was rushed so it could sell because she's 'nation's sweetheart' and they tried to get a solo album out as soon as possible and thus it's turned out to be absolute rubbish imo. (This coming from a Girls Aloud fan) Most of the singles and albums are near the top BECAUSE of their association with the X Factor! I'm just sick and tired of everyone bumming the hell out of Cheryl when imo she's not that great of a singer and I'm sick of the X Factor having such a big influence on the charts when the songs and albums just imo aren't very good! Especially as in 5-10 years time the only one that will still be around will be Leona.

Would have expected Cheryl to have sold a lot more than Alexandra.. but imo Alexandras album is a lot stronger..Love all the tracks, whereas Cheryl I only like a handful at the moment

Can someone tell me where JLS are this week

Thank you for your honesty , especially as you are a GA fan. I would have no problem with Cheryl selling so well if she could sing and the quality of the music was good. I personally don't rate GA but have downloaded their last 3 singles because down to good writers & producers they have brought out 3 excellent catchy pop songs. For Cheryl's solo single to greatly outsell these is laughable.

Edited by truly talented

My god, so many people are bitter at cheryl because she is on the x-factor panel. What exactly is the problem? She wants to succeed in life, she isn't hurting anyone. Glad i never went to school with some of you guys

The problem is everyone has a different opinion of what talent is. Cheryl may not be the most talented artist out there, but she's by no means worse than a lot of others. I appreciate not everyone likes what I like, but then again I don't see talent in some of the people others rave over. Its all a matter of taste. Live and let live is my policy. If you like someone listen to them, if you don't then don't listen, but don't diss them either. (If that makes sense) :D

The thing is, there are many people that really enjoy the song, and like the songs on Cheryl's album. Fine, you don't, that's your decision, we can't sit here and tell you to, but on the other hand, what gives you the right to condemn people for liking Cheryl and her music? Just because it's not your personal music taste, does not mean that other people can't like the music. Music tastes are subjective, you're just going to have to deal with it.

X Factor has a big influence because it promotes music that a lot of people may not have heard. When singers perform their songs on there, they do well, when contestants perform songs, they do well. This is most likely because people haven't heard the songs. I do agree, partially, with that, in relation to the winner's single. I don't like how that will definitely be Christmas #1 each year, but once again, that's the public choice, and they buy the song because they like it. I think that it is plain rude to be belittling people because they are buying music they have now only just heard, or music that they like. It's totally unfair, and wrong.

Rant over  :kink:

Yes, music taste is subjective I was just giving my opinion, and people may not have heard? Like who? Robbie Williams?

Condeming? Oh my opinion? :drama:

Lots of people may no have heard Robbie Williams' new song until her performed it on the X Factor, yes. And no, comdemning by saying that people are annoying you by "bumming" Cheryl, when all they are doing are downloading music that they like. It's like you're saying they're doing something wrong by buying her music.

All these acts have left the to 40 chart from last week: Christina Aguilera, Mr Hudson (WL), Paolo Nutini, Example, Beyonce (SW), Lostprophets, Editors, Dizzee (Holiday), Jason Mraz and Little Boots.

Nice clearout, and bye bye to Jason Bloody Mraz

Unfortunately, he could well be back at New Year when everyone starts dowloading the biggest hits of the year. Wish Paolo could've gotten another week.

God i hardly post on here for fear of being abused anyway, but now just reading this forum is annoying me it's like some people think their opinions carry more weight than others (think i'll just stick to page 1 of this from now on!!!)

Hmm interesting. I expected Jacko to beat her but I suppose he could be on top next week.

I'm not huge on Cheryls album bar about three songs but I'd rather she stayed #1 than Jacko again! I'm so over his death now. Just a shame he will forever maul the charts from beyond the grave thanks to money grabbers. It's like Elvis all over again :( *awaits second onslaught of limited edition Jacko releases every week*.

LOL how funny would it be if Cheryl - Fight For This Love will end up higher in the YTD singles than the X Faxtor winner's song

Then maybe the prize for the winner of xfactor should be a judges spot on the panel rather than a record contract :D
