November 3, 200915 yr I want Robbie to get the number one album Edited November 3, 200915 yr by Charli
November 3, 200915 yr Surely it has to be Robbie? It'll be pretty embarrassing if he loses out to a here today gone tomorrow boyband.
November 3, 200915 yr I would love to be confident Robbie will win, but there is such a hype about JLS and all XF-related acts atm, that it is hard to say. Them having five different covers could be the deciding factor, although I would hope that due to their fanbase being mainly teenages girls that most wouldnt be able to afford all 5, well not all at once anyway. Bodies was Robbie' fastest UK seller since Rock DJ, so going by how well the single was recived I would hope the album would shift over 200K first week. I know album sales have declined hugely, especially this year, but if Rudebox can sell 150K first week on the back of the lead single which has sold less in total than what Bodies sold first week, then surely RKTVS will sell at least the same amount? Either way, I think it will be very close. Although it wouldnt suprise me if JLS beat him, and keep the run of reality TV acts getting to #1 for the rest of the year
November 3, 200915 yr Author Well I started the thread and voted JLS but tbh it's very hard to predict and could go either way. Can't wait for next Tuesday's mids. Edited November 3, 200915 yr by Crazy Chris
November 3, 200915 yr the run of reality TV acts getting to #1 for the rest of the year  Bon Jovi might break that though. Then again, they WERE on X Factor...
November 3, 200915 yr I'm going for JLS...and unlike everyone else, I think they will beat Robbie easily. Shame that my least favourite member (JB) has the best background colour on his slipcase (yellow) whereas my favourite (Oritsé) has a very bad shade of red :(
November 3, 200915 yr Robbie. I would have said by miles but I think it'll be close. I know I'm in the minority but I really didn't think much of his lead single - and according to Q Magazine ... Bodies was the best on an album they gave three out of five stars to. Having said that ... his promotion is very heavy - he has Jonathon Ross on this Friday - and he'll perform two songs from his album - whereas I'm sure most acts only get to sing one - and he is appearing in and has all of this Monday's Loose Women devoted to just him. He has a lot more financial clout behind him than most - although this could prove a double-edged sword if he doesn't reach number 1. So I voted Robbie but in my heart of hearts I hope JLS beat him to number 1. What else is out the same week anyway? Surely this isn't just a two horse race? November 3, 200915 yr I want Robbie to do it, but I expect JLS will do it comfortably selling over 200K easily first week.
November 3, 200915 yr Mr. Williams by far .... He got a lot of hype in the last weeks about the producer, cowriter etc, he comes on J.Ross, and has good promotion for the album. I don't see JLS as an album act.

I don't see JLS as an album act. You're right Iris - Rob is absolutely everywhere next week. As well as the aforementioned LW and JR - this coming Sunday on Channel 4 alone he is on at 1.05 - The World's Greatest Popstar (repeated later in the week), 4.10 - You Know Me - a preview of his next single, 4.45 - 4Music Favourites - Robbie Williams talking for an hour about his new album - this is repeated during the following week too. So I don't think there's any doubt that Robbie Williams will win this one. Huge hype - this album is being given even more TV coverage than U2's No Line on the Horizon (mind you ..... ) JLS's promotion seems pretty trifling compared to this! Come on the underdog JLS - do it for Auntie Norma! Norma Edit ... just found out, Rob is also on 'Come Dine With Me' a week this Saturday and is a guest driver on the return of 'The Coach Trip' next month. Also, I thought you really wanted the album to be massive so it would ensure he wouldnt appear with TT  Still, at least you have all of those programes you have researched to look forward to next week. November 3, 200915 yr JLS are very popular, but I don't think the majority of their "fans" are willing to buy the album until it's £5.99 in a sale next year. I guess some of these people are balanced out by the crazy fans who want the album with each cover case though! Robbie has an incredible track record - all his albums have reached #1, and that is where this will debut.

B) I know ... just wondering where he's going to fit in the time for Mark's wedding this Sunday - maybe he hasn't been invited! Anyway ... no need to worry about a reformation - even if his album doesn't hit the number 1 spot - he's still massive in Europe which will keep him away from 'playing with his mates' ... and of course .... he's big in Japan.
