I'm not sure if there was any "twist" for a number 1 single this year. But, there are times where there was a sudden twist, where a single overtakes another song which we were sure that was going to be number 1. So, while we are (almost) certain that X Factor alumni or current contestants are set for number 1 singles, I want to ask this. Which single(s) do you WANT to see at number 1 as a "twist" on the singles chart during November and December this year?

Also, poll question, will there be a "twist" number 1 single during November and December 2009?

Lady GaGa - Bad Romance, a week after X Factor Finalists Song would be nice!

I think X Factor Finalists will probs have more than 1 week at the top though.

Lady Gaga... I'm so sick of all these X Factor ruling the charts.

I reckon Rihanna - Russian Roulette is the best bit.

Unless you'd count that as a X Factor #01 because of her performing on it. :P

Ke$ha might throw a spanner in the works

Hopefully there will be a twist. This week has shown X-Factor isn't all plain sailing even though Leona probably will be #1 she doesnt really have a big margin, at least on Itunes, and i would smile if the BEP's actually got it. It was surprising to see the Sugababes lead for a while. Im sure Leona is a nice girl but the assumption that she can/any band, singer can release a song and go on XF and get an instant smash #1 is wearing thin alittle.

Not sure how Gaga and Kesha will do. I think both have been mismanaged alittle. Kesah released midweek in a big week, so what if a "hitmaker" was getting a few sales from it a big release at the end of November as the Finalists would be dying down and before the winner would be a #1.

Same with GaGa it reached the top 10 without any promo, no video either. If it was saved it could be massive. Right now it's "wasting" thousands of sales slugging around the top 10 when a big release 2 weeks after the video could have got it over 100k+

SINGLES

9th Nov

Leona Lewis – Happy

16th Nov

Alesha Dixon – To Love Again

Jason Derulo - Whatcha Say

Rihanna – Russian Roulette

X-Factor Finalists 2009 - You Are Not Alone

This should be the XF week. Cant say ive heard Russian Roulette but some reviews haven't been particulary warm. Jason Derulo could be a massive #1 imo. Alesha....its Leona-lite, just more boring. Wheres another Boy does Nothing?!

23rd Nov

50 Cent feat Ne-Yo – Baby By Me

David Guetta feat Estelle – One Love

Dizzee Rascal - Dirtee Cash

Lady Gaga – Bad Romance

As ive said Lady GaGa should have walked this, but its release has been bizarre and it wont get there i dont think. 50 Cent, comeback single? Maybe. Dizzee has little chance, again his sales have been swallowed up across the last 6 weeks.

30th Nov

Ke$ha – Tik Tok

Mini Viva - I Wish

Pixie Lott – Cry Me Out

All contenders i think, but do they have the balls?

7th Dec

NOTHING #1 MATERIAL

14th Dec

Robbie Williams – You Know Me

The Saturdays – Ego

Shakira – Did It Again

X Factor Winner – tba

Pretty sure this is a given. Wouldnt be surprised to see Robbie brought foward a week.

All in All its Leona, XF Finalists then the winner.

GaGa, Kesha or Derulo or Rhianna in week 2 could get it i guess.

Kay records Children in Need song

Kay has promised the latest Children in Need single will be "joyous"

Comic Peter Kay is to record a charity single for this year's Children in Need appeal, which he says has the potential to be "another Amarillo".

The as yet unnamed track will be accompanied by an all-star video featuring almost 100 famous faces.

Kay, 36, said making the video had been "a real labour of love".

The comedian's cover version of Tony Christie's Is This the Way to Amarillo, released in aid of Comic Relief, was the UK's best-selling single of 2005.

He went on to release two more charity singles, raising funds for Comic Relief and the NSPCC.

Kay's Amarillo video featured a host of famous faces, among them Sir Michael Parkinson, Ronnie Corbett and children's character Mr Blobby.

But the Phoenix Nights star has pledged even more celebrities when the video is unveiled on Children in Need night on 20 November.

"It's taken two years of planning to create the video and I just know people are going to be both astonished and delighted," he said.

The comic's efforts have been applauded by Children in Need chief David Ramsden, who said the charity was "really excited".

"We're sure Peter Kay's Midas touch will help to create an iconic charity single," he added.

Out 23rd November.

Pfft I'd rather Rihanna or Gaga than ANOTHER charity song. Especially Peter Kay. -_- Still even that is better than Cowell and his band of talentless twits.
I've said yes; Rihanna, Jason DeRulo, Peter Kay and even BEP have a chance. It may not happen though... I'd LOVE Jason D to get #1.

I would LOVE there to be a number 1 unrelated to X factor- and with Gaga, Kesha and Rihanna, it could well be

I would also love Peter Kays song to be number 1- could be a good charity record, and as the comic relief one was pretty disappointing this year, it could be massive

Doubt it will materialise but Ke$ha, GaGa or Rihanna for #1
LOVE Shakira to get #1, but quite obv there isn't a cat in hells chance, despite an xfactor perf. hopefully GaGa can grab a week :D

I would love Robbie, Lady Gaga or even Cheryl - with 3 Words get the christmas #1

Though i want a christmas song to be christmas #1 for a change - maybe George Michael will do the trick. I guess Halleujah last year felt a little bit christmasy - i could certainly see it on a now x-mas compliation

So what does everyone class as "X-Factor related" or whatever? Are you all going by the artists that came from X-Factor? Or songs that are being promoted on XF?

Either way, Susan Boyle will be the one to stop current X-Factor related artists number 1's.

I just see it as the winners single and the charity thing to be honest.

The rest i just see as a promotional tool the same way certain acts will benifit from the Top of the Pops Xmas special.
