Do correct me if this has been done already and plus 2009 is pratically finishing so i doesn't matter too much so which year of the noughties has had the more great appeal of no.1's for you.

2001 or 2009 for me :) Couldn't pick so I voted for 2001
2009 is the onlu one I will remmeber. So many great music...

2007 or 2009, decided to go for 2007

Kaisers, Timbaland, mika, Rihanna

Unfortunately The Proclaimers had to ruin it :P

There are too many x factor releases and other crap getting to no1 at the moment. I'd say 2000-2003 was much better, cant remember a specific year trhough

The decade has been pretty $h!t #1 wise

Erm off the top of my head I would probably say 2007 tbh.

That's my favourite year in general.

2007 without a shadow of a doubt for me;

Grace Kelly, Shine, Give It To Me, Beautiful Liar, With Every Heartbeat, About You Now and Bleeding Love =

Umbrella, Stronger, What A Wonderful World and The Way I Are were all great too :D

I put 2007 because of Rihanna :wub: and Leona

but i think 2008 had more: Beyonce  Alexandra  Leona  and GA

Apart from 2007 there's been too many No1's to keep track of...

I do miss the fun pop and dance music of 00/01.

As a whole the decade kind of stagnated, and music fragmented into a zillion sub-categories; leaving the mainstream to be consumed by Simon Cowell and the X Factor brand. Hopefully we are now firmly in a long overdue transition, for 2009 has generally been a great year for fresh new music.

2006:

Maneater

Hips Don't Lie

Deja Vu

SexyBack

Going clubbing in 2006 was epic. These songs just made it such great fun because everyone was so into them (maybe not Deja Vu so much). I don't think there's been a set of songs which have been so universally popular when you go out. Or maybe it was just because it was my last year of college/start of uni. Probably more likely the latter.

2003, and 2007-9.

Out of those though, 2007 has the least #1s I don't like. Most are awesome - Mika, Kaiser Chiefs, Take That, Rihanna, Robyn, Kayne, Sean Kingston and the Sugababes are my faves!
