I love the Sugababes and I was never a hater of the whole Jade Ewen thing coz I loooved her before she joined Sugas so I didn't mind but ...

 

this album is the first I don't like by them. :mellow: It's such a mess with terrible lyrics in places, like put Black Eyed Peas to shame lyrics! Especially 'Sweet & Amazing' and 'She's A Mess' which are both just utterly laughable. The only songs I like are the three singles, 'No More You', 'Crash & Burn', and 'Miss Everything. The rest is either just lame or embarrasing. It could grow I guess but I still think it's among their worst, sorry. :(

I like it, it just doesn't sound like them at all, which could be a good thing. One Touch, Catfights, Change and Three are definately below this.

Agreed up to there, I have surprised myself with this album as I have qutie enjoyed it which, based on the lead single quality, I wasn't expecting.

 

However, to me this is not a babes album as it doesn't have a babes sound. The Sugababes have always been about a sort of originality in their sound, especially in the earlierand obviously superior eras. So to me, it's not a good thing that they've in a way sold out to the generic club sound for bigger success and flopping with their last actually good SUGABABES album.

I'm not going to listen to the leaks. I always do and then it's not very exciting when I buy the album, but it's going to be so hard :D

My thoughts:

 

Is a it a good album? Yes.

Is it a nice pop album? Yes.

Is it a Sugababes album? No.

 

 

It's a good pop album and while some of the latter half has a sugababes feel to it I still do not class this a real Sugababes album.

I did say that ^_^ and its still one of my least favourite albums of theirs but I do like it in it's own way, so to say I prefer that to Sweet 7 is a bit :mellow:

It's not that I'm a 4.0 loon, my favourite line-up was 2.0 I think, just that I've always followed Heidi so obviously gonna support her :lol:

I am also shocked that Simon is not a S7 fan

Bar the 3 singles & Wait For You, theres nothing else special on there imo, I like the songs though bar She's A Mess & Give It To Me Now.

I wonder if Sweet 7 was meant to be a hidden track?

Get Sexy : 3/10 - Hate this even more now, Jade has truly wrecked it :(

Wear My Kiss : 8/10 - I'm embarassed to admit I quite like this now, generic as it is.

About A Girl - 7/10 - It's OK, totally overrated on here though.

Wait For You - 5/10 - Average, sounds like something Steps would have come out with ten years ago.

Thank You For The Heartbreak - 6/10 - It's OK, it's not amazing but it's damn catchy and the chorus is pretty good.

Miss Everything - 9/10 - Epic guilty pleasure.

She's A Mess - 7.5/10 - I really quite like this now, even if Amelle's bizzare posh British rap does scare the $h!t out of me.

Give It To Me Now - 4/10 Gone off this, really boring and sounds like a completley dated Timbaland production.

Crash & Burn - 8/10 - Gone off this a bit, still a really good ballad though.

No More You - 9/10 - Love this still <3

Sweet & Amazing - 8.5/10

Little Miss Perfect - 7/10

 

Overall - 7/10

 

As you can see it's gone down quite a bit from first listen (well by 2). It's still a fairly good pop album though.
