And we'll just brush under the carpet everything 2.0 did?

:manson:

They're not the one's who want to get back together. If it was this would be a complete differant story and should happen straight away. But it's not.

So no different to any other Sugababes album review? I really can't imagine Sugababes appealing to The Guardian (or The Independant for that matter) sort of readers anyway! LOL I'm surprised they even gave TIMW 5 stars LOL.

Either way, 'Sweet 7' is a crazy grower.

Why did they say the erased an ENTIRE album of Mutya's vocals? It were like 3 songs. I hate it when so called ''reviewer'' can't even get their facts right, making me take the review alot less serious too.

Ouch at the reviews though. But it's also a good thing. They might now realise that being slutty and making american music is NOT the Sugababes.

Sugababes have changed the lyrics to a track on their upcoming new album Sweet 7 amid fears that it encourages binge drinking.

The track 'I'm A Mess' was renamed 'She's A Mess', with the lyrics altered to: "Drinking bottle after bottle, she's such a mess in that dress I'm not impressed."

"The original line was 'I'm such a mess' but we were worried we were encouraging binge drinking so we decided to change it," Heidi Range told the Daily Star.

"There are some lyrics that are quite cheeky but people shouldn't take them seriously."

The group recently insisted that the new record is a "step up" from previous albums.

Sugababes release Sweet 7 on March 15.

I guess that's why they got writing credits on She's A Mess. They changed I to She

It's just a generic & bland album and they tried waaaay too hard on this album. They should have stuck to the sound that their fans love.

Their next album will be very telling.

This about sums the Guardian up:

Sugababes 4.0, as we might term them since Keisha Buchanan was replaced by Jade Ewen in the most recent reshuffle, delayed the release of this album by four months for reasons that haven't quite been explained. In the interim, Buchanan's vocals were rerecorded by Ewen – not that you can tell the difference – and a third single squeezed out.

For reasons that haven't quite been explained - yet next sentence: "In the interim, Buchanan's vocals were rerecorded by Ewen". Uhm 2+2 love?

And she can't tell the difference between vocals? Oh dear!

Andy Gill is a bell-end. We all know that the sugababes are a completley different band to what they were 5 years ago, hell last era probably. But that doesnt mean they shouldnt take into account there are some awesome choones on this record.

They are two horrifically written Reviews.

this is mine:

The much delayed and anticipated seventh studio offering from British girl band the Sugababes has found it's way onto the web. The very early leak of the album is just the latest in a line of errors by Universal Island and Crown Management. Who ever thought it would be a good idea to send a full album promo out over 6weeks before the release date was obviously high at the time.

The band has been at the centre of much controversy recently as the last original member, Keisha Buchanan, was ousted late last year by the band's management. Swiftly brought into replace Keisha was Eurovision starlet Jade Ewen in the usual revolving door format that the band seems to have adapted itself to over the past decade. The shift from the third to fourth incarnation of the band meant that Sweet 7 was pushed back to February, where it was delayed once more to it's current release date of March 8th.

The 12 track album kicks off in true Sugababes tradition with the lead single being the first track. Get Sexy was released in August with Keisha's vocals. However, in a low blow to Keisha, Jade's attempt at the song opens up Sweet 7. The first thing to hit you is just how different the two girls sound. Jade's effort falls short of the Buchanan original, disappointingly so. Her cause is not helped by poor production and her voice being run through autotune far too many times. The remainder of the song is almost identical to the released effort, with Buchanan's vocals being removed from the chorus. Unlike the version of the song which appeared on the recent Now compilation. Jade's newly added 'now' at the start of the chorus feels out of place and disrupts the flow of the chorus.

Wear My Kiss becomes the first track two released from a Sugababes album. The Generic but catchy and lovable third single is no different from the single version, and Jade does her best to fill Keisha's stilettos and nearly succeeds. Lacking a certain attitude that Keisha had. By far the weakest track on the 6track sampler with Keisha's vocals.

Second single, About A Girl sits in the traditional second single territory of track three. The number 8 'hit' launched with a video that you just know would have been so much better had Keisha not been sacked the day before it was filmed and a distinct lack of promotion. Slick Red One production and a catchy chorus make this a plus point on the album. Once more Jade's vocals lacking slightly in Keisha's attitude, but the album version is an improvement from the rush recorded single version with Amelle taking over the 'ooh-oh-oh-ooooh-oh' at the end of the chorus. Highlight of the song is the sensational Heidi/Amelle middle 8.

Wait For You follows next and is sure to divide opinion. The leaked 6track promo with Keisha's vocals showed that this was to be a heavily Keisha lead track and without her smooth vocals the track comes up a hot mess. Jade's vocals come across rough and shouty. The Production on this, as with Get Sexy is horrific, with the producer seemingly determined to drown out Amelle and Heidi on the chorus at the end. Which is tragic given that Amelle's vocal efforts on the chorus merge well with Jade's and save the song from being tragic.

Stargate produced Thank You For The Heartbreak continues the downwards spiral. Starting with Amelle's sensational verse, which is even better when performed live it leads into a disappointing bridge but surprisingly good chorus. Jade, Heidi and Amelle sound brilliant together on the chorus. Heidi delivers another exellent verse and Jade's first attempt at ad-libbing could be described as poor at best. The worst point on the entire album is to come from Jade's middle 8. Compared to the Keisha original it lacks her power, smoothness and fierceness. With the high note at the end going from amazing to painful in record time. However from this cavernous low, the only way is up. Jade's second attempt at ad-libbing on the song is a vast improvement and is by far the highlight of the track.

The long awaited first collaboration by the Sugababes unfortunately came from Sean Kingston. However before you run away remembering Beautiful Girls, Red One has worked his magic and made Sean Kingston enjoyable! The song which on paper should be an unmitigated disaster is sensational and the highlight of the first six tracks. Jade does a bang up job of replacing Keisha's vocals and for the first time on the album excels her predecessors efforts. While Miss Everything's chorus is entirely sung by Kingston and seems more like Sean Kingston feat Sugababes than the other way around the part the babes play is amazing. From Jades spelling of Love with Gucci and Louis V, to Amelle never having a 'nine to fiver' and onto Heidi's middle 8 there is no denying that this unlikely collaboration works.

Continuing the momentum into the second half of the album is She's A Mess. First of the tracks not to be leaked with Keisha's vocals, is undoubtedly my highlight of the album. She's A Mess is begging for a release and huge club play. Amelle's hook 'Everybody go mad, everybody go psycho, psycho' is one that will be screamed back to DJ's across the nation. While many effects have been layered onto the girls vocals there is no doubt in my mind that this will be sensational live. The Get Sexy-esque backing track hints at it's club potential. Filled with fantastic lyrics and Amelle's sensational accent making it's first appearance since she took a charnce at the high school darnce make this my favourite on the album, and possibly my favourite Sugababes track to date.

Tasked with following the utterly fantastic She's A Mess is Give It To Me Now. With a Timbaland feel to the production and backing track Give It To Me Now is undoubtedly a Sugababes track. Hook 'Put your money where your mouth' is likely to be stuck in your head for weeks to come. Very well produced, the track wouldn't be out of place on Change and is a more poppy Back Down. The harmonies on this track sound brilliant and show that perhaps Jade wasn't such a bad replacement after all.

All new track Crash & Burn takes up the ninth slot on the album and like Now You're Gone before it really showcases the potential ahead. The first all 4.0 track delivers and then some. A sensational midtempo really showcases the girls vocal talents and is sure to be a fan favourite. If Island/Crown have any shred of common sense left this will be made a single before the era is out.

The Ne-Yo penned No More You really hammers home that this is by far the best closing to a Sugababes album since Three. A live version of the track featuring Heidi and Keisha has been doing the rounds on youtube for some time. I for one have been eagerly anticipating the studio version, and what a studio it is. The combination of Amelle and Jade is unbeatable and thrusts this firmly into the top10 SugaBallads. Heidi, shines on her middle 8 and the ad-libs provided by Amelle and Jade make this the second best track on the album in my opinion.

Sickly sweet Sweet & Amazing is the penultimate track. Just as Give It To Me Now wouldn't be out of place on Change, Sweet and Amazing channels Back When and also wouldn't sound out of place on the girls fifth studio album. With a few corny/cheesy lyrics the upbeat chorus make this a winner. Despite having a sound verging on The Saturdays at points, the track is very Sugababes and could have easily been recorded by any of the three previous line ups. Although i could imagine Mutya objecting to a few of the lyrics.....

Closing the album is Little Miss Perfect. In my opinion the best close to any Sugababes album with the exception of the Taller In More Ways Re-Issue. Once more the Jade/Amelle combination really brings this song alive. Stunningly written and hauntingly delivered, Little Miss Perfect shows us exactly why when it comes to Ballads the Sugababes are truly untouchable. The trademark three part harmony i was so scared had gone is really here in force. I can't really say more than this is a touching and emotional ballad. Vocally, this will be a tour highlight. Especially if it's acoustic.

Overall, I had originally hoped for a Three beater, seeing as Change and Catfights & Spotlights fall short of the band previous efforts. After Keisha left I revised my expectations and have had them exceeded. This, for me anyway, is the bands best effort since Taller In More Ways. The Sugababes are back. Without a doubt this has the potential to unseat Angels With Dirty Faces and become my second favourite album behind Three. Could it have been a Three beater? For sure. The cd I'll be making for my car containing Keisha's vocals on the first 5 tracks most certainly is.

My Rating -- 9.5/10

I'm sure the next album will be completely differant to this. It will be much more catered to Jade's vocals they should also utalise Amelle voice, she really has a great range and has really improved. They should also be getting Heidi on the middle 8's.

Also they aren't really reviews. I said this on popjustice look at BEP they didn't get good album reviews but they're the biggest band in the world right now. Also the Guardian gave AWDF 2 star!

Ouch at the reviews :( It's a shame and all and it woudlnt suprise me if they wouldnt be that harsh if it wasnt for recent events.

Still think this is a brilliant album though and suprisingly I seem to be fully agreeing with Silas. Sweee 7 is definatly a contender for my second favorite Sugababes album behind Three and I most certainly think it beats the $h!t out of Change & Catfights and Spotlights.

Considering the album is out next week (?) It's hardly ROFL worthy compared to if the CDQ leaked at the same time as the last leak :P (i.e months before release) :P

What's wrong with the version that leaked anyway? I thought that was CD-Q/HQ anyway LOL :(

Zip it. :arrr: :kink:

You have to turn the volume up really high to hear it. It was a web rip. :P
