Releasing three uptempo singles (in September, November and February) then releasing the album two weeks after the 3rd single has plummeted down the charts is just senseless. 'About A Girl' should have been lead single in September, then a ballad in November and then releasing the album staight away in the busiest quarter of the year might have had a bad chart position for them but it would have had MUCH better sales in the run up to and after Xmas.

I'm sure Heidi is gonna come up with the same kinda excuses, but fact is that the music is just not what it was.

You're right. There was a time when you could say you liked the Sugababes without having to be ashamed. Now it's just a guilty pleasure.

 

And I still support the Sugababes because it's incredible what the name Sugababes has achieved in 12 years. That is incredibly long for a girl group. There is still hope in me that there will come a good album with a real sound of its own.

Clearly you don't understand people's objections to this. We know the album would have sounded the same with Keisha and I anyway would still have hated the way Sugababes have changed their sound. However, I stand by the fact that had their not been a backlash against the ousting of Keisha and the idiotic confusion most of you seem to have between passion and drive becoming difficult to work with and bullying then this album would have done much better.

3 || No Noob, this forum used to be titled "The Sugababes & Solo Babes Forum" It was shortened by the admin like all the other forum titles were a while back. If you hadn't noticed but Mutya's solo sales figures are in the Singles/Albums topics and all the girls solo work is discussed in here. And the fact that all 4 line ups performed/released under the same name means we can discuss whichever material we please, whenever we want.

 

4 || You might want to google how a forum works, i don't think you understand the concept. It's about discussion, if everypost is about butterflies and rainbows and pink and how wonderful the Sugababes are and how everysong is perfect in every way there would be no discussion or debate which undermines the whole f***ing point of the forum :rolleyes:

 

5 || And on 95% of the things you'd find the same levels of negativity. WMK was a $h!t single choice with either line up. The album cover looks cheap and tacky with both line ups, i could go on, but if you haven't grasped the concept by now there's no point.

Just because people aren't feeling the present line up doesn't mean they can't reminisce about past line ups with other members here. They have just as much right to an opinion on the new line up just as much as anyone. The fact the latest line up is getting so much heat is telling.

 

Personally, I'm past caring about line ups because I'm sure this latest one won't be the last, and it's all got a bit ridiculous now. However, I don't see anything wrong with people offering their opinions on the new line up covering songs from 2.0 and 3.0. Most of the time, the opinions are offered in a respectful manner. Whether the moderator is a fan of the new line up or not is irrelevant. As long as they do their jobs (which they do), then it's all good. The forum would be boring if everyone liked the same things.

 

So, in short - as long as everyone is respectful to one another, I think people should post what they like. And with the way this era has gone, you're bound to see a lot more negative responses than positives.

So, in short - as long as everyone is respectful to one another, I think people should post what they like. And with the way this era has gone, you're bound to see a lot more negative responses than positives.

As for the album, the drop was expected :( gutted but was bound to happen, no doubt next week it will be like 41.
