Thats my fav bit too haha, don't want to be too supportive of K, or i'll get flamed for being a loon or whatever term is used. But I love it when i find a performance where she does soemthing a little different, always makes it a treat to watch :)

that won't happen here. It only happens to people who support v.4 even if they support Keisha as well.

I was plannin on doing Mutya's album anyway, but i'll give Siobhan a go too. It'll give me an excuse to listen to them :drama:

I still think 'Change' is under-appreciated! It's one of my all time favourite albums! Woo for generic and safe pop albums :wub:

'Surprise (Goodbye)' is one of my highlights! :( Probably my 3rd favourite album track (behind 'Mended By You' and 'Back When'). The only two songs I don't really get/like though, are 'Never Gonna Dance Again' and 'My Love Is Pink'. I have tried to get into them, because of the album being strong, but it's not working and I feel like I want to vomit whenever I hear them.

'Catfights & Spotlights' took an aaaage to grow. But it did. 'Side Chick', 'Every Heart Broken' and 'Can We Call A Truce' (My personal fave) are all 10 out of 10's. The 'About You Now' acoustic bonus we got was stunning too! :wub:

I hated the acoustic version of About You Now and I hate it that it's on my fantastic C+S CD :(

I think 'Side Chick' is one of the best tracks they have made, it just flows. Chorus, verse, chorus etc. but it just flows so well.

I will be doing $h!t, sorry, Sweet 7 at some point.

Looking forward to reading that review :D Hopefully you'll be commenting on the sheer disgrace that is Jade's version of Wait for You. I still wanna hear Keisha's version of She's a Mess :(

Jade's version of 'Wait For You' is fantastic!I will never get why people dislike it so much. I found Keisha's version to be a little boring tbh. Keisha beats her on TYFTH though.

No way, Keisha's version of 'Wait for You' has way more emotion and its just amazing :wub: I agree with TYFTH though, Keisha beats her for sure, and with About a Girl in my opinion :D

This shall come later on Today!!!!!!

I am firmly in camp hate on Jade's WFY/TYFTH. Combined they'd struggle to out score Shape. Both are utterly repulsive.

I didn't think it was quite possible to rape a song to that extent by replacing one of the three vocalists [Though, Keisha's middle 8 is the best part of TYFTH and she's all over WFY]

Lol I don't find Jade's TYFTH that repulsive, I actually listen to it more than Keisha's.

Wait for You is completely ruined though -_-

I love Keisha's middle 8 in TYFTH! especially when they performed on Capital FM!

12 || Little Miss Perfect || 32 plays || 07.5/10

The most recent and least played offering next, the album starts off with Get Sexy. Which could have been a good thing, except it was re-recorded with Jade's vocals in spite of it already being released with Keisha's. Utterly disgusting move, and it's been very badly redone with Jade's "Now" at the chorus almost vomit inducingly dire. The generic but slightly lovable Wear My Kiss is up next, and Jade doesn't have much of an affect on it. The shorter radio mix is an 8.5 compared to the longer versions 6.5 [score above is a weighted average]. Following the first track 02 to be released in Sugababes history is second single About A Girl. The Red One epic had a dire video that had they not sacked Keisha the day before would have been AMAZING. Song itself is alright. Like WMK not much difference between the two but Keisha still has the upper hand imo. In the 4th track Jade has turned Wait For You [stunning in Keisha form] to something that is actually offensive. She lacks the power and passion of Keisha's delivery and the only redeeming feature is that it has been produced well so we have a nice harmony in spite of Jade's attempt to make the thing utterly diabolical, it's not the worst thing on the album, that's next. Oh dear god. Thank You For The Heartbreak really should have been retitled Be Prepared For Ear Rape. All in all it's not terrible until you hit the middle 8 where Queen Keisha Buchanan showed the world how a middle 8 should be done with powerful, spirited, soulful delivery and that high note :wub: Jade manages to rape the soul of the song entirely. She sings without emotion, spirit or any trace of a soul and then proceeds to howl like a banshee at the end destroying the highlight of Keisha's version by trying to compete with Keisha's high note. Like Nadine on Walk This Way, she fails miserably as Keisha struts ahead wondering who tuned the radio into white noise. Unfortunately Jade manages to drag this diabolical note out for what seems like eternity and then single handedly destroys the art of ad-libbing ruining the end of the song. Miss Everything, like AAG and WMK, is much of a muchness.

Up next is the first track that hasn't leaked with Keisha's Vocals. I am of course talking about the incredible She's A Mess. This skeazy track has had more than it's fair share on the auto tune machine, but who give's a $h!t when the result is this good???? Easily the Highlight of this dire album SAM provides us with a bit of Amelle rap and is generally just a great party track. Give It To Me Now was great at first, but i'm a little over it. It's alright just not up to the Babes previous standards. One that is up to that standard is Crash & Burn. The only real 4.0 track and the one that was nearly the 4th single [They should have released this, it's easily the second best on the album] some sensational harmonies this stunning lower tempo track is the first non-club banger on the CD and is utterly brilliant. It is the sole reason I haven't written 4.0 off entirely yet in spite of Jade raping Freak and TLIY which is near unforgivable. No More You is up now, and i am willing to admit that i wouldn't love this as much if the studio with Keisha had leaked. The live rip i have with just Keisha and Heidi is a 12/10 moment so it stands to reason the studio is a pure 15/10 at the very least. Lacking in soul is the only criticism of this track i have, obviously this is Jade's fault. Now before i get attacked by the 4.0 loons, Jade has a technically stunning voice, just no emotion or soul in it. Plus it sounds a little strained on the ad-libs on the end where as Keisha would have powered through them while doing something at the same time like her nails or texting Queen Mutya. The end of this album is definitely the best part of it, and i have a major major major soft spot for the cheese fest that is Sweet & Amazing. So what if the lyrics are cliched and cheesy as hell, it just makes me smile and want to have a groove. Even Jade sounds brilliant! This and Crash & Burn are the two best tracks for Jade vocally, she actually shows some emotion and soul. Little Miss Perfect is nice enough, but after 3 brilliant lower tempo's it feels a little pedestrian. The vocals are brillaint, but it has a dire backing track which really drags the song down.

B-sides

Not a single one. Most irritating. I blame crown.

Highlights

She's A Mess, Crash & Burn, Sweet & Amazing and No More You. The rest you can avoid like the plague.

Videos

About A Girl could have been sensational, instead it was $h!t. Wear My Kiss was cheap, tacky and just plain offensive. Green screened $h!te.

Live Performances

About A Girl and Rabbit Heart in the live lounge were superb, and Crash & Burn was also stunning. Under no circumstances listen to 4.0 singing Freak Like Me or Too Lost In You. The former has it's soul raped entirely and the latter not only is vocally murdered but the backing track has also been raped.

DISCLAIMER: As with all of these reviews this is my opinion. You don't have to share this view, i'm not saying i am correct and you are wrong, these are my own personal feelings. If you, a 4.0 loon, still feel like writing a long post bitching about how brilliant Jade is how wrong i am and how $h!t Keisha is i invite you to find a tall building/cliff and talk a walk off it. An opinion, by definition, can't be wrong. You have the right to have yours so respect my right to mine.

Sweet and Amazing is so cheesy but I enjoy it so much. Jade really shines on S&A and No More You, I think those are her best vocal performances on the album.

Crash and Burn is horrific though, I hate that song so much.

At least you like the 3 best tracks! ('She's A Mess', 'Crash & Burn' & 'Sweet & Amazing' :heart:)

Her Royal Highness, Queen Mutya Buena of Pop Music

**WARNING, THE FOLLOWING REVIEW MAY BE HIGHLY BIASED TOWARDS MUTYA BUENA AND THAT GODLY VOX**

Mutya Buena - Real Girl

01 || Just A Little Bit || 179 plays || 10/10

02 || Real Girl || 270 plays || 10/10

03 || Song For Mutya (Out Of Control) || 564 plays || 11/10

04 || Breakdown Motel || 42 plays || 10/10

05 || Strung Out || 101 plays (Demo: 54) || 11/10

06 || It's Not Easy || 62 plays || 10/10

07 || Suffer For Love || 103 plays || 8.5/10

08 || Not Your Baby || 164 plays || 10/10

09 || Wonderful || 50 plays (Demo: 94) || 9.5/10

10 || B Boy Baby || 43 plays || 9/10

11 || This Is Not Real Love || 5 plays (Radio Edit: 172) || 0/10

12 || Paperbag || 5 plays (Demo: 82) || 0/10

13 || My Song || 51 plays || 10/10

Possibly my most played album of all time [s4M gets it's total from 3 different versions of the song, the highest of which is well over 300] This absolute beast of an album had the potential be the greatest thing ever recorded. With Crown around that was never going to happen :(

Kicking things off is Just A Little Bit, a song i personally love to screech along to at ever occasion possible. Best place to listen to it would probably be the car, i just love to drive to it :wub: Debut single up next, and imho this deserved the 10week stint at #1 far far far more than the overrated Umberella. Such a brilliant track, but even more deserving than Real Girl is the next anthem of a track, Song For Mutya. A song so effortlessly cool and brilliant it's nothing short of a lifechanging 11/10. Shame the video was $h!t. Breakdown Motel is our first ballad, and dear god Mutya is good. Such a stunning and touching track. I rather liked the original demo for Strung Out, but LOVE what they did to it. The ONLY remix Island did properly, they made this incredible track haunting and all kinds of incredible. I love when the drum beat just explodes out of the end of the first chorus really adding that bit extra to the track and that middle 8 :wub: Second 11/10 on the album. The opening half finishes with the mid-tempo It's Not Easy. While this album is full of the things, this is definitely amongst the best. I feel that as a proper straight-up ballad this would be an 11/10 moment, it's likely to have begun as a ballad knowing Island/Crown. The subject matter is what's really touching about this track and her vocals are just so full of emotion Jade's emerald with envy. They 'polished' this from the demo version, which we only ever got a 2min clip of, and i think this is slightly weaker. Her singing this live at the MOBO's was really something though, and Keisha standing up swaying and singing made that performance even more :wub: The middle 8 is uttely mind blowing. Mutya's vox is working overtime and it's just amazing. The only proper uptempo after S4M is this beast, Not Your Baby. I instantly fell in love with this GLORIOUS track, it's just so catchy and punchy and full of tude. While they overedited Wonderful it's still a stunning track. The initial stripped demo is far better as it just allows her vocals to soar and shine, while they still do, and right fully so, the backing vocals in the chorus are a bit bleh and the backing track is a bit overbearing and twee at times. That said her voice still makes this utterly incredible and the fact that they left 'Oh, that's where it ends innit?' in right at the end is just :wub: although it doesn't feel as natural as it did in the demo. I do like B Boy Baby, mainly because Mutya's vocals are just lush. I love her delivery and i really quite like the sample. HOWEVER, Wino adds $h!t all to the track as the bridge is far superior to the chorus. This Is Not Real Love has been SLAUGHTERED. They kill Mutya's glorious ad-libs and add a horrific backing track. The original 'Main Edit' was utterly mindblowing. Paperbag is next, and something else Island have slaughtered. The Demo is soooooo much better without the overproduced backing track and that rubbish random man rapper sound thing. Just vile. How her A&R guy can sleep knowing he ruined two glorious track's i'll never know. My Song attempts to redeem the last half of the album by closing the album with a lovely track. It's just so nice and her vocals are really beautiful, a great closer.

This could have been so much better though, that's what disappoints me most. Addiction, Too The Limit, Darkside, Heat, Hollow and Not A Love Song are all utterly sublime and should not have missed out.

Videos

I like Real Girl's and Just A Little Bit's but B Boy Baby is a little plain and Song For Muyta's is just tragic.

B-Sides

Naive and Fast Car :wub: both great but the latter is just mind blowing to the point where i'd have released it as a single and then rereleased the album off the back of it. I SHOULD BE MUTYA'S MANAGER.

Highlights

The album is really great, swap out Wonderful, TINRL and Paperbag for the Demo's/Originals though.

Live Performances

This bitch kills it every time live. Her performing Ugly solo is a 12/10 moment.
