P.S. I can relatively understand Easy and Follow Me Home... But how can you say that the 'Soul Sound' single is by Sugafakes?

You misinterpreted. I used Sugafakes in reference to my first post and Soul Sound in reference to my second post. They didn't coinside with each other whatsoever.

Anyway, I think everyone gets the point I'm trying to make! :D If Ego keeps rising on iTunes at this pace it should have no trouble in charting within the top 40 by the end of week! =]

theres obviously no point in talking to you, as you are like a stick of rock, break you open and you have delusional fanboy written right through you!

I agree, the sort who makes it hard for others to keep on liking the artist when I love The Saturdays :(

I'm not the Sugababes biggest fan lol but I agree with you, there was no point in bringing the Sugababes into the debate when they've achieved a hell of a lot more than the floppy Saturdays.

Eeek we agree on something :kink:

Can we please stop the Sugababes Saturdays argument before it becomes an epidemic like Sugababes and Girls Aloud on here.

The Saturdays have underperformed recently whichever way you look at it but Ego is great and we will see in the new year how the album gets on.

The Sugababes done fantastically well to get top 10 after all the drama, the real test comes with the album.

I like both bands and I don't see why people need to spew such hate towards them.

Also the comparison is a joke Sugababes have been around ten years, The Saturdays just over a year.

LOL at this. How high it is in the year to date chart?

It has a very poor chart run and poor sales (125k isn't much for a new single and in this age of increasing downloads). Get over it...

 OK, to make a comparison barely even half of the singles that the Sugababes or GA have released have surpassed 120k in sales so then according to your definition of poor sales that would mean both groups have sold poorly most of the time, which we both know isn't the case. It is quite obvious you just want to take a dig at The Sats and not ignore the facts I'm stating regarding GA whereas what you say about The Sats is completely bias! And btw, it is still too early for FIO to make an impact on the YTD since it was released in October, had it been earlier in the year it would be at a much better position now. The sophomore album's lead single should have never been released in 2009 anyway and that put FIO at a huge disadvantage so under the circumstances it did extremely well. A peak of #2 is a hit, you can't deny it and sales of over 120k+ is exceptional regardless of what format era a single's been released in.

the floppy Saturdays.

Uh sure, a Platinum selling debut album, 5 top 10 singles - 3 of which sold over 200k definitely fits the adjective of "floppy".

Looks like as usual the chart will be Janetless this weekend :( All For You down to #103

It's no news that Girls Aloud and Sugababes have had flop singles like "Whole lotta history" or "Follow me home", I don't get your point?

And the Sats are 150k away from the year top 50 at the mo, so even with 12 extra months they would never reach it. It's a FLOP, end of.

Did it really SELL 300k? :o I swear it's sold around 250k and probably shipped 300k...

Jenna, PLEASE STOP!

1. your facts are not correct. (But I don't want to make my point because I cba)

2. You're comparing girl bands just to make attention and create fight

3. This is the iTunes thread, not just a Saturdays thread - we do have a Saturdays forum as far as I know.

4. We have a rule, read first post, first page: 1 Any Artist bashing will not be tolerated any longer, please keep it in the respectable optional forum or use the PM/MSN faciility, otherwise you will receive a warning.

This applies to those too, who are involved in this debate and couldn't argue in decent, tolerable form

Bert For Lashes, FIO was not a flop, this is what a flop is:

Looks like as usual the chart will be Janetless this weekend :( All For You down to #103

But I'm not suprised, if the incredible Feedback and Discipline weren't hits then the average Make Me or Greatest Hits were going to head for a flop.

@ Santa Ben: If you read my post at the top of this page you will see how try to redirect the argument to stay on topic. And I'm doing the same in this post. If some posters weren't so rude and attacking this debate would be relevant, on-topic and toned down. My references toward GA were facts, you can find them almost anywhere on the internet. It is a fact that See The Day, Whole Lotta History and St Trinians hardly or didnt scrape a minimum of 6 weeks in the top 100. And it is a fact that not more than half the singles GA have released have sold over 120k.

I dont think of Forever Is Over as a flop though I do think it's chart run and eventual sales were dissapointing considering the peak. The 130k it did would have been fine had it peaked a bit lower.

Chasing Lights has indeed recently passed 300k of sales. Confirmed in a few places I think. Im not sure if Up aswell has passed 300k or not?

Lets just not speak about the Wordshaker sales ok :(

It is a fact that See The Day, Whole Lotta History and St Trinians hardly or didnt scrape a minimum of 6 weeks in the top 100.

But those songs WERE flops, so what is 'Forever is over' if you can only compare it to GA's flops?

Stop being so biased, FIO is even not in the 100 best sellers of the year, how can you ocnsider it as a hit?

And we haven't attacked you, you brought Sugababes into the conversation whilte it wasn't needed, and we just explain you that this era has been a flop for the Saturdays so far.

:o Has it? Brilliant! :D

I still fail to see how any number 2 single can be deemed a flop. A flop in my opinion is when a previous single reaches number one and the following can't even make top 40.

Cascada

David Guetta

This argument is done take it to the Sugababes or Saturdays forum.
