Posted December 7, 200916 yr Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed A Dream (Syco) could this week overtake Kings Of Leon’s Only By The Night (Columbia) to become the year’s biggest-selling artist album, as it looks set to spend a third week at number one. The album, which sold 715,571 copies in its first two weeks of release, shifted another 70,000 units yesterday. As a result, it looks certain to spend a third week at number one – its closest competitor Lady GaGa’s The Fame (Polydor) sold around 29,000 copies yesterday, as did Black Eyed Peas’ The END (Polydor). I Dreamed A Dream – already the year’s third biggest artist album – could also claim the top spot in year to date rankings this week. At the moment, Kings Of Leon’s Only By The Night is the year’s top seller, with 999,960 units, followed by Lady GaGa’s The Fame, with 928,005. Should Dream… sell as many units as last week, when it shifted 303,708, it looks a good bet to overtake both albums. Elsewhere on the albums chart, 30 Seconds To Mars should score the highest new entry with their This Is War (Virgin) looking set for a top twenty placing. New albums from Chris Brown (Graffiti [Jive]) and Timbaland (Shock Value 2 [interscope]), however, look set to miss out on top 40 debuts. On the singles chart, Lady GaGa’s Bad Romance (Polydor) should take the top slot this Sunday from Peter Kay’s The Official BBC Children In Need Medley (Epic) in a largely static top ten. Can't wait to see SuBo's sales this week, i think she's going to have a legendary 4 weeks of sales, like TT last year, i just wonder if she'll climb even higher with her sales as we get closer to Xmas or if people will lose interest.
