December 8, 200916 yr Must be missing data as first week Peter Kay had sales of 138k from 51.4k on early midweeks a ratio of only 2.68. So 17.8*2.68=47.7k No, the first day sales are unique to the front-loaded first week, whereas last week it sold more on Saturday, which you would expect with a physical seller. There is no way that Peter Kay will sell less than 80k this week.

There is no way that Peter Kay will sell less than 80k this week. Also, that first Sunday and Monday, were the only days where it sold a healthy amount of downloads. Unfortunately I expect Peter Kay to narrow the gap each day, overtaking on either Friday or Saturday.
December 8, 200916 yr I hope you guys are wrong about Peter Kay... his sales surely going to go down now. There's nothing to keep it selling it's not getting any airplay. And Lady Gaga is really pulling ahead of the competition on iTunes. Edited December 8, 200916 yr by AcerBen
December 8, 200916 yr There's no less to keep it selling than last week, and he managed to increase sales all week. Also, Sunday is the biggest selling day for downloads however it's the lowest selling day for physicals.... I'd have said GaGa had to be at least 5k ahead of Peter today to stand a realistic chance.
December 8, 200916 yr SO pleased that Take That will hold in the top 10 again week and with this weeks slaes it should see them very near 200,000

I have a theory that Peter Kay's sales may have suddenly bumped up later on in the week last week because stocks of the DVD single were only starting to become widely available again from Tuesday onwards after being low for most of the first week of release....seeing as they were then available for the remainder of the week, the pent up demand was hopefully mostly realised in the last few days of last week and therefore hopefully the insane growth the song saw won't carry over onto this week fingers crossed that GaGa can retain her lead in that case :cheer:
December 8, 200916 yr Susan Boyle crazy sales, amazing. I dont think she'll have another big album though, i think there is so much hype around her now that its impossible to escape her, second album wont sell half as many i dont think so i hope she is enjoying it while it lasts, and possibly making some money out of it. :) Gaga has been so successful, wow.
December 8, 200916 yr Lady GaGa surely must have had the most succsesful 12 years of any debut artist...

There is no way that Peter Kay will sell less than 80k this week. The first week had a Saturday also you know. If the first day is so heavily loaded as the figures suggest. How do you explain the fall out on the midweeks this week? It is all most bizarre, a most strange set of figures. I'm thinking there is a stokcing or physical data missing, but if not  then I can't make out any figures to fit logically. There's no less to keep it selling than last week, and he managed to increase sales all week. December 9, 200916 yr ^ PK sales are very difficult to predict with several ppl already making sensible suggestions. Problem is, it's an atypical single released at an atypical time. Should get easier to predict as week progreases. V exciting!
December 9, 200916 yr I have a question as something's puzzling me. How are The Pogues Top 20 when they've only been around No.40 on I-Tunes all week? No physicals available so all it's sales are downloads. I don't understand it. Isn't I-Tunes the top download site?

Well very easily, they have several other album versions on iTunes that are floating around on the iTunes chart. One at number 37, another one at number 52 and a third one at number 158. If you combine them, The Pogues are well in the top 20.
December 9, 200916 yr Lady GaGa surely must have had the most succsesful 12 years of any debut artist... im sure you mean 12 months and i doubt her sales are a patch on the 1st year of the spice girls.

And you bet sooner or later there is going to be a movie based on her life which will keep her in the public eye for soem time yet and they will probably have her doing the soundtrack.
