I do find the RATM muppets, who are downloading this song purely for no reason as intolerable as the XF fans who would just download anything by whoever wins.

I do agree with you on this too!

You would have said the same about the Peter Kay anti X-Factor record (Once Upon A Christmas Song) last year.

At least this year's anti X-Factor record stands a very good chance of reaching #2 which is way beyond the expectations I had for it a week ago.

Why don't you change the bloody record and concentrate on worshipping and promoting Cheryl Cole's 3 Words instead.

Those last few days your behaviour has been really disappointing TIP  You're acting like the loons who bring other artists into the debate to start a new feud. What the hell do you get Cheryl into the debate? She's nowhere near the Christmas #2, so it is just a low attack because you know I love her. Very low indeed. :(

And don't beg people to "change the bloody record", you just keep attacking and criticising Simon over and over and over and over and over, you don't like the man, we get it.... You could change the record aswell ;)

I'm not downloading anything this Christmas - I'll be too busy going out to pubs, etc and listening to bands. Rather that than have Simon Cowell 'spoon-feed' me his nicely packaged 'Christmas Gift'. Thank you Simon ... but no! It'll be as welcome as the three tubs of Vaseline that Victor Meldrew and Margaret used to be every Christmas from Margaret's aunt!

I thought about downloading the RATM song ... but upon listening to it I really don't like it either. That campaign says one thing though about those who talk on Facebook ... they're all talk!

No way RATM are going to be number one although i'd love to see difference. But that's the only reason as i ADORE Joe's version of The Climb
I won't be downloading anything for Christmas either. Christmas is the time where i get albums and the only albums i'm considering getting are Rihanna's Rated R and Leona Lewis' Echo. I'm not sure whether to buy Stop Crying Your Heart Out now and give it a minor boost or wait eleven days for the album. Suggestions?

the point with the RATM is it is trying to put some excitement back into xmas #1. having the xmas #1 already decided months in advance has been very boring these last few years. i cant even remember the leon jackson song that made it, yet i can remember all the 90's xmas #1 because the song had to earn its spot at the top and some were exciting close races.

i don't like RATM and have not downloaded it but it has made the xmas #1 slightly more exciting this year to see how it fairs, even if joe will eventually run away with it.

But it hasn't! It still won't make number 1 so the predictability aspect is still there. I mean ... lets face it ... any song is going to be number 2. The X-Factor winner will be number 1 and this will continue to be so for probably the next five years or so. Luckily for Cowell ... it seems that most of the British Public are happy to add to his millions and continue to buy his crap. X-Factor domination will only change when Simon decides it is time for it to change. Christmas number 1 will have some link to Cowell as he'll only replace it with another similar show. Cowell isn't just the most influential man in music at the moment ... but the most influential man in television. The man's a power-freak! He won't be happy until he's Prime Minister! And then he moves on to be President of the USA!

Get used to it ... Simon has your musical enjoyment of Christmas firmly mapped out for the next few decades.

Go 3Oh!3!!

Can't Believe it's going to do better than DTM -_-

Okay well it's already time to give up I guess. The blind, deaf and dumb have won the battle yet again. This whole 'excitement' about Xmas no.1 has ended quite quickly.

I am so glad to see YKM at #4. :cheer: I so hope it goes top 5 on Sunday to become his 21st top 5 hit :D

Not suprise Joe is #1. The song is appauling though. They shouldve picked Dont Stop Believing.

well i've only brought tori amos midwinter graces and rihanna rated r this xmas period, so hes had no influence on my xmas, bar i wont be checking whos xmas #1 as i already know. i've never purchased any x factor winners single or album.

Well I'm happy Joe is #1. I think he has a fantastic voice and deserved to win the show. I hope he gets to Christmas #1 and enjoys it. He has a great talent and should be successful, even if it is only before the fickle bubble bursts.

I find the whole RATM campaign a bit pathetic if I'm honest. Especially when a large chunk of people doing it watched The X Factor every week anyway. They do realise that this only supports the show yes? And that they're still giving money to Sony? The song isn't even good in my opinion. Ok, I think The X Factor should stop hogging the Christmas chart but this is all a bit silly. I know people who are downloading it that don't even like it!

Whilst I think The Climb was the wrong song to pick, I actual do like it. Miley Cyrus does it better than both these guys but it's still a pretty decent song which people on here seemed to support a while back. Also, it wasn't written for her or for a Disney movie. It was offered to other artists first hence why it is no longer nominated for a Grammy. Why are all Disney songs crap may I add? Is everything Elton did for The Lion King also pure rubbish?

The XF song is #1 - really?? :w00t: :P
