I'd say KITN will drop a lot, I think it will be out of the Top 10, mabye, Friday?

But who knows really, it could stay in the T10 for a while longer!

Yeah I agree Wordshaker - I was actually surprised it didn't drop sooner.

The group was still really active up to today but if you check it now there are minutes between wall posts rather than seconds. Think that's all the excitement over. I do think it will drop like a stone, everyone knows the point was made.

It will stay top 10 and likely top 5 for the whole week. When it exits the top ten (on around Monday next week I would guess) it'll be fun to watch it fall.

Who's betting on a 1-2-38 chart run? :kink:

Come on Gaga climb, climb :w00t:

She's already *been* #1, so what difference would it make?

Haha, That would be funny to see! Anyone know what's the biggest drop ever in the charts?

That is if he's remembered at all - everyone has already forgotten about Steve Brookstein who missed Xmas #1 (but fair play to him I suppose, he wasn't actually released on Xmas week)

I thought he was but missed out cos of Band Aid 20?

[remembers he is on a chart expert forum and decides to check..]

Oop, no, you're right - but he surely *would* have missed out because of Band Aid 20 anyway, he couldn't take them for the New Year chart. No shame there really.

A big difference to our ears, The Climb should just die a natural death and fade away, losing out on the Christmas No 1 will be Joe's only real claim to fame.

Due to a chart technicality, it would be #5 to out of the top 100 by Gnarls Barkley - Crazy I believe.

Not counting that, a wild guess would tell me the answer is the 91+ place drop out of the top 100 from #9 for The Pogues - Fairytale Of New York (in the last week of 2007, or first week of 2008 if you look at it that way)

Gee, I remember that. What, 9 weeks at #1 then down to #2 then #5 and then gone.

That's weird! :o Does anyone remember why it had such a crazy chart-run (I'm about Gnarls Barkley). There obviously should be a reason for it...

I thought they stopped selling it?

Edit: Yes it was removed so that people would "remember the song fondly and not get sick of it."

I think if a CD single was deleted, a short time after the deletion (2 weeks?) the song would be removed from the chart altogether.
imo that is a silly decision.

Just the first week was downloads for Gnarls Barkley. (Remember in 2006 a song could only have one week of download only pre-physical release).

The physical being deleted (i.e. no more made or sent to shops) meant stores would just run out of stock. I can't remember if it's the case but I'm pretty sure it was 2 weeks after the deletion was made that the single would be removed from the charts.

Other songs that this happened to are:

8-1-1-1-2-4-4-7-10-x-38-45-69-x-71-x [Nelly Furtado - Maneater]

5-2-2-5-5-7-9-12-24-21-20-21-27-x [Rihanna - SOS]

2-3-4-6-9-8-9-11-20-27-32-x [The Pussycat Dolls - Beep]

15-3-4-4-8-11-12-15-25-37-42-39-41-x-66-x [Nelly Furtado - Promiscuous]

It'd happen in lower positions too just not as noticably. I remember Girls Aloud's Biology fell out from #151 for instance.
