things are getting really tough for the RAGE campaign, so much negative press against them building up now all simon cowell PR lead. the simon cowell machine is just too strong he has got statements released by alexandra, cheryl and himself all attacking the chart battle. he even lays into the BBC about talking/playing the track and has the nerve to pull out the bullying card too. joe may get sympathy buyers now. the man is so manipulative and controlling! its incredible to see how his PR works in order to get his way. its his absolute divine right to get xmas #1 and no one else is allowed to go for it.

the cold weather may help RAGE a bit on saturday but they need a massive final monster boost on that day by downloaders.

like i said before...

how can we possible to fight against a man who can easily manipulate the chart unless all the britains now against him...

he can get a lot of support easily...

so drop it...all the RATM supporters...unless you can fight Simon down...

by the way...comgratz to 3OH!3...love them for long hehehe...but guess they are not selling good to get to top 5...does anyone have the figure?

Rubbish. A quick check of the facebook members at random shows about half of them don't live in the UK. So if they download it it won't count.

Some overseas members are getting round that though and it IS counting.

My point still stands; too many people pretend to care but don't actually do something about it. Even if everyone living in the UK who had signed up to the campaign had downloaded the track just the once, then people living overseas wouldn't have to get involved and no-one would have to download the track dozens of times to give it a chance of the No.1. It would be guaranteed already.

saturday will be huge, a mad rush of late christmas shoppers like me!

Does saturday count. I thought Friday is the last day

I'm so BORED of this supposed "battle".

Joe will be number 1 on Sunday. His physical sales will win it for him. I'm not a huge fan of "The Climb" but I'd rather hear it over Rage Against The Machine any day. The only winners here are Sony BMG...possibly 800,000+ sales in one week from the top 2 singles alone.

In the unlikely event that Joe doesn't make number 1 this week, then there will be nothing to stop him doing it the following week when RATM drop like a lead balloon. Number 1 or 2 to outside the top 40?

I really don't get why people waste their money on a download that they will NEVER listen to. Use that money to legally download something that you do like and will listen to. This won't stop Simon Cowell going for the Christmas number 1 next year, or the year after.... zzzzzz

If RATM make #1 this week, the media hype will easily keep it #2 the following week... and media hype will keep it top ten next week regardless. It'll be the third week that it'll start plummeting, low top ten to out of the top 40 is totally possible.

I don't care if Joe makes number one the week after. This is about the Christmas number one and how it shouldn't be pre-determined by N.E. One who wins a talent contest with no competition every single year. I hope Simon does keep trying to get the No.1 spot, we want this to be a competition and interesting! You can hardly say that everyone who buys RATM will never listen to it, i'd never heard it before and now I really like it!

I really don't see what the nationality of the artist has to do with this. The song is good ^_^

the song is boring in my opinion!

and yes the nationality does mean something as it's the UK christmas #1,

could of chosen someone british to record a new xmas tune...

Maybe next time choose a good and new song, and an artist who is from the UK?

Well loads of people love the song so that rules out your "choose a good song" comment which is stupid as people ahve different opinions.

What new songs would you suggest, they can't be pop as that misses the point. This song is one of the defining songs of rebellion, what new song could match that?

Nationality doesn't really matter imo, why are people saying this when they're supporting GaGa for number 1 throughout the year?

The uk is hardly anti-american is it. Especially when it comes to music.

ROFL!!! Noooo... he's working class like the rest of us :teresa:

Lol, like theres a small difference between working class and being a billionaire. Simon cowell is not a billionaire, thats ridiculous.

No the chart week runs from sunday to saturday

Oh and another point to make, physicals would do a whole lot better if they were stocked in all the shops that joe is stocked in. If supermarkets stocked physicals, sales of them would rocket. Its so easy to pop something in a trolley while you are walking round a supermarket, its a whole lot more effort to go into your local town and walk right into the back corner of some hmv shop somewhere and queue up to pay for one single item.
In which supermarkets are they stocking Joe's The Climb, I have just been shopping in North London and they had the Top 20 Albums stocked and no Joe anywhere to be seen, I went to Sainsburys, Asda, M & S.Not that I would even consider buying The Climb but curious. Will make the effort to get RATM tomorrow though.
Makes me laugh how these 'Rage' supporters are now saying "Simon Cowell is using his PR team to win it, thats not fair!" ?? and on Sunday when Joe gets to No.1 they will be like "Simon Cowell fixed it, everyone hate Simon Cowell, and the media, so unfair..blah..blah..."

No other song would have come close to getting the same amount of people joining a Facebook group as KITN has, but that isn't necessarily because it's a good song - most people like it because of the name, the agenda against X Factor, and because of a guy swearing. It's a pity that the same amount of people won't get behind an actual Christmas song, but that'd be a non-starter because they won't get to act "cool".

will the commercial top 40 shows who count dloads only have to play Rage as their no1 since it totally stuffed the xfactor on dloads?
btw it sickened me earlier in hmv seeing so many wee idiots buying joe's single - they all have similar principles!!

Poppycock! I have listened to RATM since 1992 and I f***in love that song. Nothing to do with the fact that it's Zack swearing. It's a powerful anti-racism/anti-establishment song AND it's only your opinion that it's not a good song. Bloody whining pop muppets on this board. It is a classic track from a classic album.
