Yes, some copies will be sold as stocking fillers. You can just see all those teenage girls on Christmas morning. "Yeah, thanks Gran" as she puts aside something she can use as a coaster.
*downloads* Joe :) Off to buy another copy or two of Joe's CD tomorrow...if they got any left!

I've never downloaded anything more than once (not even Take That). I'm going to make an exception in the case of RATM. I might even buy an album ... I have to be honest ... I'd never heard of them before now (the 1990's were a blur for me). In fact ... I was wondering which album to buy mum for her stocking filler .... I bought her the Scissor Sisters a few years back ... its time I broadened her outlook. She thinks Stacey should have won X-F anyway. And on that note ... knowing that 'The Climb' was to be a reward for winning X-F ... I should imagine Stacey is glad she's well out of it.

For heaven's sake! I made clear in another thread that I'm not bothered about who gets Christmas number one, but I'm leaning more and more towards RATM after hearing some people in Joe's camp. Can somebody enlighten me as to exactly how he "deserves" Christmas number one?!

Also, for those of you saying that it's unfair as this is "his shot" then you can't think too much of him can you? Surely if he's so good then he'll have many more chances at getting number one?

Hope JPL (Digital Spy Forum User) doesn't mind me posting his comment here ... as he hits the nail squarely on the head.

Simon Cowell spectacularly missed the point last week when he talked about how bad the xmas No1s had been in the past so therefore couldn't see the point in the RATM campaign.

The reason people in this country loved the xmas No1 race was not the quality of the songs but the race itself and having a wee bet on who might win. Bob the Builder v Eminem where the heck in the world would you see that but Britain. It's mad, it's eccentric but it's British and we all enjoyed it.

The Hype surrounding the X Factor guarantees a No 1 so why out of a possible 52 weeks of the year pick this one and rob people of a tradition we've had for decades.

If the RATM campaign doesn't win this year then it'll be back next year and the year after with another band and track.

Having said that ... the quality of this particular song (KITN) is pretty good.

Wow what a race for number 1 i never though tthis would happen this time last week, it definitly makes things far more exciting and it may also help simon cowell/xfactor put more effort into the winners song.

Anyhow for me im happy take that are holding top 10 all week and also snow patrol as high as number 6 is just brilliant, il be delighted of both hold their positons come sunday.

Is madonna;s revolver offically relesaed yet?

Norma,

I'm definitely of the opinion that Bob the builder is far better song that Joe's the climb will ever be.

Maybe so ... but Mr Blobby is by far the greatest number one ever (lyrics like they'd been written by angels themselves). Why ... they even fought off the mighty Take That with their 'Babe' (how the hell they ever thought a love song to a pig would be a chart-topper I'll never know) so he is by far the hero of the X-Mas chart!

it is shocking this campaign - if they want to get back at Simon then do so don't involve some innocent 18yo who dreams of a career in music - this is his shot and people shouldn't be depriving him of a hit just because he is signed to Simon's label. its such a shame for him. 3rd copy now bought

I can't say I'm 'shocked' at this campaign at all. XF&Co themselves have been manipulating the Christmas #1 for years by giving their artist a dedicated platform for weeks leading up to the chart & tweaking their single price & availability for that final push.

For them it's been like a game of Russian Roulette, people were bound to decide that enough was enough at some point. It's not the RATM supporters that placed an 18yo at the centre of it all and across many forums the majority actually support Joe as an 'artist'.

If he comes back when this is all over with a good track that's not straight off the back of a reality TV show, even another cover (but one that's actually old enough to warrant a cover), I might even consider buying it myself.

Merry Christmas all :)

*downloads* RATM again.

Is anybody else shocked by the fact that Leona is only #27 in the mids? She performed to a captive audience of almost 20 million thought it would have easily gone Top 5 tbh!

Leona's cover is such a dirge that I'm surprised anyone with taste would buy it!! I'm not surprised at all by her low position!

The whole point of Leona's XF performance was to sell albums.

She's back in the top 10 and that's what matters to them, I guess.

You should see all the Rage fans on Joe's forum, calling him every name under the sun.

Please don't create a RATM vs Joe fight here please!

We might not get an update, not sure where MW HQ are, but with the weather conditions, some people might not be able to get into work. We shall see around 11am.

Also this could effect Joe's physicals, as people won't be bothered to go out in the Snow to buy his single.

excellent, it's a xmas miracle :yahoo: bring on more snow tomorrow! except I have to go to work at 6-4 - don't know how I'm going to get there, I'm snowed in at the moment :snif:

Joe now down to 1/6 with WillHill. Hmm interesting. His odds are shortening once again after a few places last night were tightening up on him.

Btw Usain Bolt was 1/7 to win the 100m in Beijing so that gives you an indication of what sort of odds he's got with the bookies.

Sledge

Good result for Joe. Closed the gap by 26k then. No wonder the bookies were shortening.
