December 18, 200916 yr Great news! Lovely lad and a local one too, gonna buy 2 more copies today for my friends Christmas boxes!
December 18, 200916 yr Author RAGE 306115, X-FACTOR 297192 (8923 short) That's what's getting posted on the RAGE group's facebook Which is nearly 9000 short as DS article.
December 18, 200916 yr I think Joe will be able to get to #1 from RATM by Sunday, since the gap got much smaller and even though quite a lot of people won't go out to buy a copy because of the snow, there will be some people who will be buying them and I think that could help him overtake.
December 18, 200916 yr The snow across the UK is not widespread you know. Most parts don't have it. Edited December 18, 200916 yr by Sharpshooter
December 18, 200916 yr I think it'd be HILARIOUS if Joe beats Rage by a few copies just for peoples reactions. It'd be like Cascada vs MJ all over again.
December 18, 200916 yr The snow across the UK is not widespread you know. Most parts don't have it. Too true, we have bright sunshine here in Aberystwyth, although being by the sea there was barely any chance we'd get snow. Anyway I don't think I know any places in Aber that will stock the single, now that Woolies has gone.
December 18, 200916 yr :banghead: It's NOTHING to do with Simon! It's about bringing excitement back to the christmas #1 and possibly getting a DIFFERENT song at #1 for christmas! He'll be #1 next week so he'll get what you think is his devine right to a #1 because he 'worked so hard' to win a TV show! I don't see there's any excitement if RATM wins this week hahaha... but if Lady Gaga does...:D I will be very excited...hahaha :yahoo: sorry off topic... anyway... if the Saturday surge of RATM works well, Joe possibly falls...so it's still not very clear that if Joe can be no. one... but gladly we see the 9K gap...and the sale of RATM drops...thinking the surge may just bring about 100K on Sat...(cuz many have already bought some) actually, maybe we should blame facebook for spreading this battle message...
December 18, 200916 yr Author One good thing Joe isn't going to beat Alexandra's first week total he needs over 200k, in just 2 days
December 18, 200916 yr Author MW article The gap between Rage Against The Machine and Joe McElderry in midweek sales figures has narrowed to just under 9,000 copies, as the race for the Christmas number one single goes right to the wire. Rage Against The Machine’s Nineties hit Killing In The Name had established a 60% lead over McElderry’s The Climb earlier this week, only for this to be cut back as the CD single of The Climb hit stores. The latest OCC figures show that Killing In The Name is still ahead – but only just. Killing In The Name has sold just over 306,000 copies so far this week, while The Climb has shifted around 297,000. The Climb has been helped by sales of more than 150,000 CD singles, while sales of Killing In The Name have been entirely digital. Bookmaker Ladbrokes yesterday re-installed The Climb as favourite to top the Christmas charts. With the weekend likely to see many consumers doing their Christmas shopping – and the suitability of The Climb as a stocking filler – the race looks set to go right to the end of Saturday.
December 18, 200916 yr One good thing Joe isn't going to beat Alexandra's first week total he needs over 200k, in just 2 days Well that was obvious given that Joe is $h!te and Alexandra is amazing. What this whole campaign has proved though is that even though Joe will still get number 1, PEOPLE WANT THE RACE FOR XMAS #1 BACK. This has probably been the biggest race in a long time and so many people have been talking about it, it has therefore done an amazing job even though Joe will get it.
December 18, 200916 yr Author And $h!t, my MW session has expired, I can't get into the data section of the site. BUGGER

December 18, 200916 yr I just hope next year, other artists decide to release new songs/star-studded duets/Christmas hits etc. It shows that if you actually TRY instead of just admitting defeat to The X Factor you could still do it. That way we wouldn't have to rely on old songs  My fave Xmas battles were 1999 and 2003 :o Though Westlife won the former, it had a reissue of Lennon's 'Imagine', S Club 7, Steps, The Cuban Boys dross and none other than Mr Hankey the Christmas poo! :cheer: Edited December 18, 200916 yr by Constipated_Elf
December 18, 200916 yr So it's 81k for Joe yesterday, and 53k for RATM :o There're still hopes for Joe then, especially with Saturday being a big day for physicals!
December 18, 200916 yr Great news! Lovely lad and a local one too, gonna buy 2 more copies today for my friends Christmas boxes! He even wished RATM good luck bless him  I've downloaded both. That video with the X Factor finalists singing RATM made me fall in love with the track ha.
