The next single from Shakira's She Wolf album will be 'Gypsy', it has been revealed.

 

The Colombian pop singer will shoot a video to accompany the track next week, reports the Daily Star.

 

'Gypsy' - co-written with British singer-songwriter Amanda Ghost - will be the third UK release from She Wolf. The title track made number four in September, while follow-up 'Did It Again' has thus far peaked at 26.

I do like the song but the whole album is a step down from previous work for me :(

Eugh. This will only work as a single if it has a great video and gets lots of airplay...which could be possible but after DIA...I doubt it.

I do love this song so much, possibly my favourite song on SW, but I don't think it'll do well/save the album

LOVE this song. It's a horrible choice of single though. I really do think they should release Mon Amour, if only for how utterly fabolous that video could be.

so amanda got her way....the most commercial track on the album, i have to defend gypsy a bit here even though i want MITT as the next single. i like it for what it is, its a warm and playful song, her voice is gentle and expressive nice vocal showcasing her voice. and im glad to see another video but IT BETTER BE GOOD!! the song needs it, no studio this time!! shakira playing a character like disney esmerelda would do me fine. the video could make the track really shine!! please be filimic or like a musical!

 

as far as this being a hit? its all about radio 1 playlisting it. they won't playlist this, so it will struggle :rolleyes: also lyrically is it cool to be a gypsy? and stealing clothes is that also cool? no i don't think so either but somehow shakira gets away with it cause its innocent and her voice has a sweet quality when she sings it.

I cant see this doing great, prob do the same kinda chart run as did it again, she wolf was a great single but i have been so disapointed with everything i have heard from the album since.

Men In This Town needs to be a single!

Shakira has announced the release of the 3rd single from her stunning album She-Wolf!

 

Gypsy will be released in the UK on April 5th but if you can't wait until then you can always pick up a copy of She-Wolf to hear it!

This needs to boost the album. It's already out of the top 100 albums and that's after her both singles have also dropped as well. :(

Apparently the rumours of a video are false, and there's no plan to release this. Expect a new song (probably Spanish) around March-ish time, apparently.

Well I guess that concludes this era has been a total disaster, save for the 'She Wolf' single. It's a shame 'Did It Again' did so mediocrely, it was catchy and a real grower.

add to the fact the era started in Septemper and is now over in January. what the hell!!?? an era that spans just 4 months. Epic are giving up on her, she made so much money for them in the past. and there is still potential with this album but no dedication or money?? shakira did so much promo for this but Epic that that was enough and didn't spend money to back her up.

 

its alll about the spanish album now...question is how good will the lead single be? expectations are high cause of La Tortura, could shakira come up with another distinctive fusion track?

Shakira's official website confirms it is the next single and there will be a spanish version called "Gitana"

Gitana should be out Feb 15th so at least that's some new Shakira to look forward to.

There's only so much they can do though, 'She Wolf' (the single) was huge and that should have been enough to sell the album at least initially but it bombed, then the second single couldn't be a hit or do anything for the album here even with an X-Factor performance and the usual Radio 1 backing, so why would they realistically carry on losing money on the project?
