Lady GaGa - Christmas Tree!

The Pogues ft. Kirsty Maccoll - Fairytale Of New York

Isn't it the 10th Anniv of Kirsty's death next year too?

But anyway, none of the campaign's will work next year. There'll be too many of them now this one's been successful.

But if there was a campaign Geraldine McQueen 'Once Upon A Christmas Song' would be quite fitting.

A- It's from the winner of a spoof version of XFactor etc...

B- It'll be an actual "Christmas Classic"

Pogues- fairytale of new york, seeing as it will be ten years since her death (18th December 2000)

I dont honestly think this will get as much hype as this year though

And no, that is not 'a random old Xmas song', it's f***ing FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK.

(Lily is a good idea as well though)

THIS

I think the campaign for RATM has gone really, really well ... and thanks to it - the song Simon Cowell would like us to have had as number 1 .... is not. However I don't think there should be another campaign. If the RATM campaign hadn't been on ... I doubt that Simon's dreadful 'The Climb' would have sold much more than 250,000.

I'm glad RATM got to number 1 ... its a good song but I don't think another campaign would work again anyway ... there'd be too many 'little armies' trying for it.

However if there was one ... I think it should be a Kirsty McColl song - preferably her cover of The Kinks' Days or the Billy Bragg song 'New England'.

Some kind of bliss by Kylie Minogue.

Kylie would win my support!!!! KYLIE!!!! :cheer:

Next Christmas might have a battle of Campaigns with 3 going up together :o

None I hope, The point has been proven and I cant see a non-X Factor Xmas number one happening again.

This particular campaign seemed to really mean something to alot of people, something i dont think will happen next year.

I voted for a NEW XMAS RECORDING, something that should have been campaigned for this year

instead of an oldie.

What happened to supporting new music?

nice idea really...

but it should be with 'Did it again' from the 'Impossible princess' album.... very appropriate title.

i don't know if it should be a protest track like the RAGE campaign. but they can try cause some of us believe in freedom to challenge xmas #1s. it would be interesting to see another grass roots internet driven song up against tv driven acts.

but knowing it is possible to take xmas #1 could create a batch of new xmas tracks by acts from a rival record companies. they should go for it! or a charity single by a group of artists coming together especially for xmas. it is possible to take on the x-factor song but they will need massive promo and PR to take simons latest goliath reality driven syco act cause next year he will spend even more to guarantee he is #1. the down side is too many efforts could dilute things and sales will be spread about and simon is banking on that happening rather than focusing on one track and giving it a big push.

Why not Sugababes - Santa Baby as it is current, contepary, british, christmassy and overall fantastic!
I went with Freedom 90 since it is my favourite of all the songs to choose from, but I would definitely love F*** You to used for next year's too
