Posted December 24, 200915 yr Rachel Stevens has confirmed rumours that she is plotting a pop comeback. The former S Club 7 star, who has been absent from the charts for more than four years, revealed her plans while wishing fans on her messageboard a merry Christmas. "Some of you may have read in a couple of the papers that I'm getting back into music," she wrote. "It's very early stages at the moment but I'm going into the studio in the New Year... all very exciting! I'll keep you all posted with what's going on." Stevens, 31, launched a solo career after S Club 7 disbanded in 2003. Five of her seven solo singles made the UK top ten, with 'Sweet Dreams My La Ex' and 'Some Girls' both peaking at number two, but she has remained absent from the release schedules since her second album, Come And Get It, stalled at number 28 in October 2005. Last week she took part in a group routine on the final of Strictly Come Dancing, having finished second on the TV dance contest in 2008. She will perform a rumba on tomorrow's Christmas edition of the BBC One show. I really hope this is true, i loved rachel, especialy loved come and get it. hope because of the flop she doesnt change her style. hope she actualy sings live this time. Get her on Xfactor we can have a rachelstevens/ s club week....
December 24, 200915 yr :w00t: "Come and get it" deserved SO much more!! And yes... I hope she sings live.
December 25, 200915 yr I never understood the whole C&GI being amazing thing, but whatever ~ Not very bothered by her comeback, if it happens. Just another band member with bigger ambitions.
December 25, 200915 yr Srsly, Come and Get It really needed re-releasing this year. Bitch was a VISIONARY.
December 25, 200915 yr Fantastic news. Come & Get It was indeed a beauty of an album and she made (well sang..well mimed..) some great songs. Looking forward to this, if true.
December 25, 200915 yr That's great :cheer: Both albums are 2 of my favorite albums full stop! Can't wait to hear what she comes up with
December 25, 200915 yr ahaha i love how they've said she's 'plotting' a comeback! :P i actually liked her old songs. so good is a modern day classic! :)
December 25, 200915 yr i actually liked her old songs. so good is a modern day classic! :) Indeed. In fact it's probably my favourite Rachel Stevens song :D well, that and "Nothing good about this goodbye" :)
December 25, 200915 yr It sounds stupid saying it because it's Rachel Stevens, but she really was a few years ahead of the rest of us. I reckon with the right stuff and a few live performances she could make a successful comeback. Oh and P.S I would LOVE her to! Edited December 25, 200915 yr by Slick
December 25, 200915 yr I'm in with the Come And Get It Love. I'd be elated if she stuck with that sound, I reckon she could manage one hit single at least... if it's for Children In Need or something.
December 25, 200915 yr Sadly I'm not sure that sound ever will have a place in the hearts of the British public but I'd certainly like to see her make another mystical pop album with as few a electro influences as possible. Every ho and their weave are doing electropop at the minute and I'm missing the sort of half-arsed British pop that people like Karen Poole coughed up in their sleep.
December 26, 200915 yr YES PLZ. Come & Get It was so ahead of it's time, it's crazy seeing how much music today is like the songs on that album. TRENDSETTAH.
December 26, 200915 yr Loved Rachel, both albums were amazing, but i agree that Come And Get It was the best, such a crime that it flopped, and a bit frustrating too. Nothing Good About This Goodbye, Crazy Boys and I Will Be There were all screaming for a single release.
December 26, 200915 yr I dont love or hate rachel, she did some good pop songs and some weak ones in the past, i think it is possible for her to have sucess again but she will have to return with a killer lead single for this to work.
