December 30, 200915 yr We should make this song the campaign song against the XFactor winner next year :kink: Imagine how Cheryl would feel if it kept the winner off :heehee:
December 30, 200915 yr i thought about this when the rage against the machine campaign was about lol im glad it has been considered ill join :D
December 30, 200915 yr Il sign up but i cant see it working, it has done reasonably well alreday and its also recent.
December 30, 200915 yr Eh, nobody thought the RATM campaign would work but it did in the end so what's to say this one won't work either? GA have a very strong fanbase and I can actully see this working tbh. I'm all for it, Untouchable is a great song.
December 30, 200915 yr Author Information about it from GirlsAloudMedia: ---------------------------------------- Girls Aloud to The Top Because Top 10 records are Untouchable On 3 May 2009, Girls Aloud last single before the break, an epic dance track called Untouchable from their album Out Of Control failed to enter the top 10 and reached number 11 on the Official UK charts. Till then, the band had managed to get all their singles into the top 10, holding the record of most consecutive top 10 in the story of girlbands. This single, however, broke the path. The single the label had originally planed to release as the single was Rolling Back The Rivers in Time, but thanks to popular demand from fans, Untouchable was choosen instead. Some think that the single didn't get enough promotion and some think it was not the right track to release. However it may have been, fans played a part on it by choosing it as the single, and now fans want to recover that top 10 record by getting the song to the place it should have been: the top of the charts. But for that, we need your help. The Plan The objective is to get Untouchable back on the top 10. To do this, we are going to choose a specific week when we will proceed to download the song and/or its remixes from any download site that count towards the chart. Guide to Download The sites that you can use to download the song/remixes that WILL count towards the official charts are: [li]iTunes 7Digital Play.com Hmv Amazon [/li] [li][/li] If you want to buy the song more than once, don't buy it from the same shop. Ie. You want to buy 5 copies, buy one from iTunes, one from 7Digital, one from Play, one from HMV and one from Amazon. If you get the song 5 times into your shopping cart in the same shop, it will only count as ONE SALE and you will have wasted your money. DON'T start downloading the song until we choose the week. If you download it now it won't have any effect, we all need to download the song at once on the same week. TESCO DOWNLOADS DON'T COUNT. If you buy the song from there, it won't help the campaign. December 30, 200915 yr Ugh. The top 10 record had to end one day and at least it happened with one of their weaker singles....
December 31, 200915 yr Weaker pfff. The radio edit massacred it yes, but the full album version is a thing of beauty  Can't see it working sadly but I'll get behind it anyhoo!
December 31, 200915 yr Although it's had an impressive amount of members join so far, I think it's not being planned very well at the moment. They're already posting download links, but haven't set an official date!
December 31, 200915 yr I think they're waiting till they get enough members to set a date but yeah posting links was a mistake.. That signature is really nice. ^_^ Edited December 31, 200915 yr by Chris.
December 31, 200915 yr Apparently a radio station will talk to management to regulary play it if they go up to 1500 members - they're on nearly 1100 in a couple of days - so that could be a possibility
January 1, 201015 yr It definitely needs media backing at any rate. Support of the radio would be a good start, and full support from the label. Also the FB page could do with a tidy, doesn't look too nice to me!
January 1, 201015 yr The irony of this is that 'Untouchable' was released as a single because it was the fans' choice. Ultimately, the song failed to go top 10!!! That's with the song available to download and can't use the excuse "i couldn't buy it on cd". 'Out Of Control' is one of the best pop albums from 2008 and there was only a couple of tracks I didn't think were much cop. 'Untouchable' is a stunning song in its full 7 minute glory. Personally, I think the radio edit was its downfall - it took away everything that made the original so stunning, and replaced it with a bizarre use of filters and vocoder effects on the vocals. This isn't 'Believe' by Cher!!! That's why I think 'Untouchable' failed to go top 10 first time round. The record company should make a new radio edit using the album version and dub this new edit over the high budget video (the video was fantastic).
January 1, 201015 yr I read that they estimate that 23 000 copies need to be in top 10 I think it is very real.
January 1, 201015 yr I read that they estimate that 23 000 copies need to be in top 10 I think it is very real. well it depends if everyone does actually buy the single who signs up, we have to be careful of rules like the multiple purchases which could just make the campaign worthless!
