Plus if she gets nominated for the Brit awards especially for her album she could get a #1 album out of it when Jacko kept her at #2 for 5 weeks how cruel was that.

 

YGTL will stick around now till the end of Feb, with the run up to the Brit Awards, surely she must be a contender for nominations.

 

I think she has best female in the bag considering La Roux will be regarded as a group.

Can't see Alexandra or Leona winning.

Iwa sso surpirsed to see Florence at number two on iTunes today! She has risen very fast:)

New singles by big artists are anticipated very early, usually, regardless of airplay, videos and promo. Alexandra probably was lower, but 'Broken Heels' isn't going to #1, and 'One Shot' is. JLS don't really need casual fans though, they have enough hardcore followers.

 

I can't see One Shot or Broken Heels going to number one.

One Shot is more bland than EIL and that is saying something.

Florence might challenge for the #1 spot if it keeps on gaining. :o

How random about Flo. :o Any song that was huge this year could do it instead of her.

I think what may prevent Riverside from going to number one is that the rap version is never played in clubs it is the dance version with no rap. Therefore, when many people hear the sample with a rap they might be put off.

 

Although it will probably do a Day N Nite and have multiple versions.

Yes. So shocked. I'm just speechless. Well that passed my predictions. This is absolutely scary and random. I'm so pleased for Florence finally getting mainstream success in the singles chart.

there is a facebook group on getting Florence to #1, but it has less than 1000 members so I doubt they have helped that much

I'm really shocked at Florence, although it has been everywhere as a few people pointed out.

 

I'm starting to doubt 'Ego' will go top 10 afterall now. :(

How great would that be if Lady Gaga makes way for Florence for No 1 in the charts. I think both those acts will sweep the board at the BRITS.X-factor acts and Black British acts do not tend to do well at the BRITS so I do not think Alex or Loena will be up for anything really.

Agreed, the record company would be CRAZY not to include the dance instrumental on itunes but I've had a look at the preorder on itunes and it doesnt appear to be on there :( I still think it'll go to #1 though I can see Iyaz climbing later on, who knows maybe even Flo may have a chance in a few weeks? Not many songs scream huge hits on the schedule throughout January.

IYAZ may do well in that younger kids will be more aware of that song than Riverside. Not sure anyone under the age of 17 will be a fan.

Of course they could add another EP tomorrow but it'd still be crazy if they don't as like you, I wanted the original too. Interestingly the version on itunes is the clean version NOT the dirty mix so they are kicking themselves in the foot with that as well!

A clean version? Ha, the swearing makes the song it is not as good without it.

 

The original was released to iTunes way back in September and went top 100 before it was removed, I don't see why they wouldn't release it again. Looks like I'm going to have to stick to the dodgy quality version I have.
