Hate to be a 'the original is better!!!' moaner, but if this ends up outpeaking The Source/Candi Staton I'd be a bit sad about this fact.

 

It won't be the first time a bland/terrible cover of a song that outpeaked the original in the UK charts. Best example I can think of is 'Crossroads' by Blazing Squad. :puke2: There are plenty of others.

 

I think Florence's cover of 'YGTL' is good. The rockier style works well with Florence's vocal style. The original 1991 version is a classic but the 1997 and 2006 remixes just didn't come close to bettering the original, imo.

New singles by big artists are anticipated very early, usually, regardless of airplay, videos and promo. Alexandra probably was lower, but 'Broken Heels' isn't going to #1, and 'One Shot' is. JLS don't really need casual fans though, they have enough hardcore followers.

They managed to stay around number 60 for a while.. most of my friends who like JLS but dont really follow them have no idea they have a new song.. Once the video is out Im sure it will rise a lot.. Tbh Im doubting them being able to get a number 1.. album has sold a lot etc.. but as you said they have A LOT of hardcore followers who would be more than willing to buy a copy..

 

One Shot is more bland than EIL and that is saying something.

One Shot is much better than EIL which is just cheesy and aimed at young girls mainly
