Good to see Riverside on top- Not great musically, but it would sound great in a club

Its a good deal better than that terrible Iyaz song

I honestly would like to Florence and the machine get there the most- but out of these two, I would much prefer Riverside

OMG what a crap chart this week will be. It would be slightly ok if we saw Joe fall alot and Sats & Alex make top 10 with GaGa getting back up in the shoody top 5 (that might not happen :()

Edited by Rob Summers

I think they'll scrape the top 10 by Sunday, but that's not their problem, their problem is that Ego isn't doing anything for the album.

Ego should be up to 11 tomorrow I think

I think ego is one of the saturdays better singles and deserves top 10, its a million times better than forever is over.

Is that Take Thats the circus album top 30??If so could i ask where the live album is please and snow patrol album position please???

Only 12 for the sats and their next single is bland as hell. Think we are probably seeing the last days of them now.

Cheryls album is not falling like i thought it would.

Could someone please tell me if Esmée Denters is in the top 40/38? Thanks :)

Not in the top 38, she might be though number 39 or 40, we are not sure, those two positions are missing.

Totally agree. It's a shame 'Ego' wasn't the first single as it's their best single since 'Up' (which is imo their best single). 'Forever Is Over' was abysmal and probably had a bad knock on effect on the album in a similar way to 'Get Sexy' cursing Sugababes.

I don't understand why some artists released really bad first singles then a decent second single - the lead singles does the damage that the second single can't recover from. Record companies make mind boggling decisions.

lead singles are traditionally the biggest of an era, probably 95% of the time, so it was rather odd to see the second singles from the era's of Lady GaGa and Black Eyed Peas end up as the best sellers of 2009

but I agree, Forever Is Over was by far the worst Saturdays single to date - I was shocked that it got to #2, it really didn't deserve it, same with Get Sexy

 Do you work for Buzzjack? Where is your office? :P

I'm still at home. Another nightmare this morning trying to get the car out of the drive. Already booked tomorrow and Friday off (birthday holiday) so what a way to start the New Year.

I wonder if 'Ego' had been released as the first single, would Chipmunk have still got to no. 1 with 'Oopsie Daisy'?

Out of interest, what are the sales to date for 'Ego' compared to what 'Forever Is Over' sold in its first week of release. I actually wouldn't be surprised if the sales for 'Ego' to date were equal, or more.

** puts hand up ** :P

Well, maybe not no. 3 but I've thought all along that 'Starstrukk' is much better than 'Don't Touch Me' thanks to Katy Perry.

I suppose 'Riverside' has a decent lead of IYAZ so will probably be stay no. 1 all week. -_- Great for The Saturdays - I'm sure a lot of others will be delighted with this news.

30 Florence & The Machine - DDAO

Just noticed this. :o 'Dog Days Are Over' in the top 40. :D This was top 10 in my personal chart 12 months ago. Also surprised that Wiley is climbing. Would've thought 'Take That' would start dropping after its no. 22 chart entry.
