Well I'm (pleasantly) surprised that Owl City are not already #1.

 

Maybe it is not going to be the Rihanna - Umbrella sized hit some posters think it will be. Even I thought it was as a big a cert as you could get for next week's UK#1 single, but looking at how slowly it has climbed then maybe not. :o

 

I'm also a bit surprised though I thought it'd be top 5 at this point at least but it'll get there in the next day or two. It really wouldn't surprise me if Iyaz and Sidney are still top 2 next week in the official (I bet they've sold ALOT this past week)

It seems Alexandra gets a boost everyday between 5pm and 8pm.

No way, they haven't had enough airplay and the song and there voices aren't great.

The highest viewed youtube video of Echo is on 87 thousand and songs with their biggest viewed video of the one song with over 100 thousand stuggle to scrape the top 40 if they are a British artist. I don't even think Echo will do as well as Keep Your Head Up and thats saying something.

Why is everyone saying "Don't Stop Believing is only climbing due to Glee adverts etc..."? The Glee version is available so surely they'd be going for that version more? :unsure: Yes it'd get people interested in the original no doubt, but this is nothing more than your usual "Weekend Effect" imo.

If you hadn't seen the first episode of Glee, you wouldn't know about (or even appreciate) the Glee version. And you don't hear enough of the Glee version in the ads (TV & cinema) - you'd just assume it's the Journey version.

Exactly, Joe sang DSB on xfactor, hence the single went Top 10. Glee's version is out on downloads, but everyone seems to download the original one, which is good.

Well it will be interesting to see how Glee's version does after the show premieres (well, re-premieres) on E4 this coming week (Monday at 9pm, and Thursday at 10pm).
