January 21, 201015 yr Author edit: oops Everybody Hurts :) Latest rumour is Simon has approached McCartney, Elton and Take That...
January 21, 201015 yr LMFAO! I so hope McCartney says yes :kink: I hope he doesn't get too many acts though... Also a little surprised he hasn't asked Westlife or Boyzone tbh...
January 21, 201015 yr I completely disagree with your "so what if it is any old $h!t, let's buy it and get it to #1" attitude. I have a much better idea. How about (which I have regularly done in the past) donate the same amount of money as the single will cost DIRECTLY to the charity in question. The very fact is it is a SIMON COWELL led effort, and surprise surprise SIMON COWELL related acts appear on the record = more free publicity for those acts = more people buy those acts records = SIMON COWELL gets even more richer and his over large Ego gets even more bigger. If Simon Cowell cared so much then why does he not donate £1 million to the charity instead of inflicting another bad over-emoting cover version that will doubtless contain a key change and a choir. Well said. ^_^
January 21, 201015 yr how about MGMT, Delphic, Muse, XX, The Horrors Now that's one charity single that I'd buy. Please Simon, if you're going to cover Everybody Hurts, PLEASE NO KEY CHANGE! The original did fine without one.
January 21, 201015 yr Rihanna and Jay-Z are in London for the telethon thing, they could do it. RedOne's in a London studio at the moment where he (twittered today to say he) has been recording with an X-Factor judges older sister. Somehow I don't think he will be producing the track either. No doubt it will be another Steve Mac job.

You've missed the point Rich. My point is, if I had a relative in Haiti right now what would I care about? An awful, tacky single (with or without a choir and a key change, like that's really important right now) making money for them and helping them to rebuild their lives, or what's #1? I honestly don't give a hoot about the chart, about what makes good music, about Cowell's ego... all of that is of absolutely no concern to anybody right now - or it shouldn't be. Simon was asked to record a single by Gordon Brown, what's he going to do, say no? I think people need to put things into perspective. This is one of the few times that musical snobbery and petty chart battles have no place in this forum.
January 21, 201015 yr Imagine if RedOne did produce it... "REDONNNNE" "STARS & GUESTS OF XFACTOR 2009!" EDIT: I quite like the thought of that actually :kink:
January 21, 201015 yr Author Daily Mail: The Beatles legend, 67, and Elton, 62, are close to signing up to join Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle, Take That and Alexandra Burke, alongside X Factor winner Joe McElderry on the single. Apart from getting his own artists from his Syco label on board, Cowell has also spoken to record chiefs at Universal, and their artists Cheryl Cole and Take That will also sing. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...l#ixzz0dICqYPgf Of course few of those still unconfirmed but likely.

January 21, 201015 yr Author Kylie is recording with RedOne? She sure is. And done a track with Calvin Harris/Jake Shears. Should read her twitter for the news: http://twitter.com/kylieminogue
January 22, 201015 yr Excuse me but.. JO MCELDERRY?! That would be like The Beatles reforming but with Andy Scott Lee and Dougie from Mcfly replacing JL and GH. A starry line up with that future flop in it with stand out like a sore thumb. Is this so he can break the American markets?! LMAO. Anyway we all know the song will be totally rubbish, sell over a million copies and be No 1 for about 7 weeks in a quiet time of year for singles. But I can't help but feel a better choice would be Shiny Happy People. Only trouble would be, most simple minded wouldn't be able to look past the lyrics of the song and see the sarcastic, ironic message behind it all. Their loss..
January 22, 201015 yr Oh why can't they just do what Sandra Bullock has done and give a million dollars each? And leave what the charts is supposed to be about and that is music. Norma
