January 21, 201015 yr LOL i love comments like this. You do realise a cover version doesn't mean the original is removed from history never to be heard again right? You can ignore a cover and listen to the one you prefer. I know, but my ears will have to bear hearing that this tripe has reached number 1 and outpeaked the original I will of course still listen to the song- but I will forever have to associate it with this I swear if I hear that choir come in, I will bang my head on hard objects
January 21, 201015 yr NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Its one of my all time favourites!, Damn you Simon! I just know it will be terrible :puke2: :puke2: I would much rather see Jedward at number 1 than this! 100% agree. :manson:
January 21, 201015 yr I think some chart fans are taking this a BIT too seriously. It's a song for dying, homeless, devastated people... who the hell cares what effect it has on the charts?! Its times like this that put trivial little things like who is #1 into perspective, people need to get over it.

January 21, 201015 yr So the confirmed line-up is... Leona, Cheryl Cole, Susan Boyle, JLS, Joe McElderry, Michael Buble & Robbie Williams?? Is that so far or is that it? Has Alexandra been asked/confirmed to do it?
January 21, 201015 yr Well at least the song title will be very apt. As not only the unfortunate people of Haiti but also the ears of everyone who has the misfortune of hearing this charity recording.
January 21, 201015 yr Author I don't think there has been official confirmation for anyone but Leona, Cheryl and Michael. JLS/Rod if thats what the Sun says. Subo/Alex/Robbie etc all still in the rumoured pile but of course highly likely

January 21, 201015 yr The front page of The Sun is saying JLS, Leona and Rod Stewart. Thinking about it now, it probably said 'Rob' not 'Rod'! My eyesight leaves a lot to be desired! Is there anything being heard about Alex? We've had Leona, JLS, Joe, SuBo all being mentioned so far...
January 21, 201015 yr I can express my opinion as much as I want. Not when you say the same thing over and over again in the same thread on the same page just about. You've already stated how you feel, there's really no need to repeating yourself over and over again! It's not only in this thread either! You're saying the same things just about everywhere lately!

January 21, 201015 yr A moderator should tidy this thread up. edit: sorry, I just noticed that you are a moderator. oops.I don't moderate this part of the forum though :P I moderate the R&B, Hip-Hop & Soul forum (cheap plug alert :kink:), so I can't do anything outside of that part, I'm afraid :(

Its times like this that put trivial little things like who is #1 into perspective, people need to get over it. I completely disagree with your "so what if it is any old $h!t, let's buy it and get it to #1" attitude. I have a much better idea. How about (which I have regularly done in the past) donate the same amount of money as the single will cost DIRECTLY to the charity in question. The very fact is it is a SIMON COWELL led effort, and surprise surprise SIMON COWELL related acts appear on the record = more free publicity for those acts = more people buy those acts records = SIMON COWELL gets even more richer and his over large Ego gets even more bigger. If Simon Cowell cared so much then why does he not donate £1 million to the charity instead of inflicting another bad over-emoting cover version that will doubtless contain a key change and a choir.
