Just looking at the sig of someone in here. Why is the Jedward physical so late?

Surely it'd be a big physical seller?

Dunno, but my guess is they wanted to coincide it with the X factor tour - it starts either that day or a day later. Probably they're aiming at the casual X Factor concert goers too and not only the Jedfans.

They still should have released it both the same week..and then just promoted it a bit more during the tour

Didn't The X Factor rules used to be that the runners up couldn't sign to a record label until they've completely finished with the show; e.g. the tour. So what makes John and fucking Edward an exception? :manson:

Louie Walsh. See JLS for other example.

Syco (Simon's label) gets first dibs on the final 12, and signs a contract with all of the final 4

If Syco don't wan them then other Sony labels like Epic and RCA are allowed to take what they want.

Any other labels like UMG need to wait until after the tour.

Eggnog escaped the rule last year as well. It was supposed to be that they couldn't release an album before the winner I thought. Who knows?

I think there's a rule the runners-up cannot release an album. JLS last year were signed in January, before the XF tour. Chico also released his single (not album) before/during the tour.

It's actually quite amuzing that Syco didn't sign JLS, and now they will probably be bigger than Alexandra! They should have kept the receipt.

Yeah but the best person won. She might not be outselling JLS album-wise but she has got far more talent and credibility than them so i don't mind what the sales-figures are.

Tbh JLS have done better with Epic.. if they were signed to Syco.. They wouldnt have had as much promo and would have had Westlife style songs with Louis being their manager :|.. and both Alex and JLS would constantly be competing against each other

At least now theres room for them both.. same with Diana who will do well being on another record label

I think RCA signed Jedward and as thats under the whole umbrella I think it's ok.

Oh are they signed to RCA..I thought they were signed to Syco

I really want the Leona Lewis video to come out now. It's getting so frustrating. Not on youtube and she's not tweeting about it.

here we go... let's say Alex is actually queen of credibility & talent. Little does she know about credibility - hence her lack of writing / producing skills.

Oh if we put it into perspective with some of the artists out there atm, she currently has minimal credibility. She is however probably one of the best UK female vocalists we've ever had. And that's not an exaggeration. And i was comparing her cred/talent to JLS'. Their album has got poor reviews whilst Overcome has had a mix of both - more positive though judging by reviews i've read.

Hopefully Alex will grow as a writer. Like Leona has.

Yeh it would have made sense to release both in the same week :S

The videos not even out yet (I think)

Anyway I want them to get to number 1.. would be nice to have a new number 1

Not really given that new number 1 would be the worst since god knows when.

Still astounds me that the public are buying into this, do they not have ears?! It's not even funny imo.

But cookie_monster was not talking about credibility

I agree that Alex deserved to win X factor etc.. but they have sold 1 million copies of their album.. So Im sure Syco probably wish they had signed JLS as well as Alex

Anyway just because its had poor reviews doesnt mean its a poor album.. I dont judge whether I like an album or not based on reviews.. Cheryls didnt exactly get amazing reviews but I love it

I have to admit I actually quite like the song and liked them on X Factor..

but yeh there could be MUCH better songs to get to number 1
