So if Kesha was an animal, she'd be either a jaguar or a narwhal.

I've got a chart trivia for you - what's (as far as I know!) the only top 40 record to feature "narwhal" in it's lyrics?

this still remains my favourite the saturdays song. should have been released as the lead single instead of FIO.

The U.K-based teen pop outfit the Saturdays formed in 2007 under the auspices of Polydor's Fascination Records. The five-piece girl group sports an accessible, melodic electro-pop sound tailored for pop radio, not to mention eye-catching good looks. In 2008 their debut single, "If This Is Love," hit number eight on the U.K. charts, only to be surpassed by "Up," which made it to number five, and "Issues" which reached number four. Their full-length studio album, CHASING LIGHTS, appeared in late 2008, followed soon after by a cover of the Depeche Mode synth-pop classic, "Just Can't Get Enough." With Spice Girls-inspired colour-coordinated outfits and distinct musical personalities, the Saturdays instantly captured the attention of the U.K. media, appearing on several television shows including the drama HOLLYOAKS LATER and the children's show ROSS LEE'S GHOULIES.

Yay JLS climbed 4 places.. and 2 from their midweek position in albums

They would have sold 1 million copies now.. Needed around 4,000 sales to do so

not sure if it was top 40 or even say the word 'narwhal'

but is it Avenues and Silhouettes- The Narwhal

you know what, I have a feeling that alicia's album will be this years 'I am sasha fierce'!

In a way I'm happy Bad Romance is out of the top ten - I still like it but its reign of 10 weeks, probably up to 11 today, over the reshuffle chart was getting annoying.

EDIT: Snap, chart wizard :kink:

Lady GaGa is a dance-pop singer from New York City. Born Stefani Germanotta in Yonkers in 1986, she attended the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU while performing at open-mic nights around the city. An early collaboration with rapper/producer Akon led to her signing with Interscope Records, which released her debut album THE FAME in October 2008. She scored a number one hit and a Grammy nomination with her ode to lost, drunken nights, "Just Dance." The song went on to top the charts in several other countries, helping GaGa to develop an international following. The vocalist made headlines at the 2009 Brit Awards when she, along with Brandon Flowers of the Killers, performed with the Pet Shop Boys on a medley of the synth-pop duo's hits, including the classic "West End Girls." - HMV

Soul singer Alexandra Burke emerged victorious as the winner of the fifth season of the UK reality show The X-Factor, three years after being rejected by the same programme. Thanks to a stunning duet with Beyonce and a soulful rendition of the Leonard Cohen classic "Hallelujah," Burke beat fellow finalists JLS and Eoghan Quigg to become the show's second female winner. "Hallelujah," her debut single, became the Christmas number one single just one week later, selling 576,000 copies in its first seven days and setting a record as the fastest-selling single by a solo female artist. Overcome, her debut album, was released in the U.K. the following October. - HMV
